If that's the expectation, then hire him as a player development coach. Don't pay him $2M and take up a roster spot just to mentor the kids....
I honestly wouldn't care if Jagr ended up being a healthy scratch for half the season, getting 10 points overall because...

Would be great if the flames could persuade jagr to take on a coaching role at the end of the season.

Yes, he's going to be a great mentor for his teammates. That's a huge positive to his signing.

No, he's not going to give Glen Gulutzan tips on who to put on the powerplay or what line combinations to use.

He said in an interview he wants to play till 50 or 60.. can't remember which. Even if it's not in the NHL. That would be great if he did though!

I'm glad that one of the all-time greats is now a Flame. His career stat sheet doesn't fit on my computer screen even at 75% zoom!

Man, it's crazy watching the hooking and holding from those 90s clips.

It is amazing that Jagr has been able to produce throughout the past few decades given how much the game has changed.

If whoever shared that link is part of their Hoser Army, it looks like they're making $1 every few seconds off sales at that site. Not bad.

Does Jagr have a really small head?? Seriously, this is an interesting little interview, but I keep finding myself distracted by how his hat fits. Who can wear a cap like that? He literally couldn't tighten it anymore. Is that why he has such big hair?
