I definitely agree that Chu would be a better target for a recall given the two situations (like Pepsi said Gondek is just bad at her job, Chu is a bad person and bad at his job). I can't imagine either will get re-elected but Chu's conduct seems more worthy of a recall to me.
He can't even sign a pointless petition without fataing it up.

It’s only $500. Why hasn’t anyone started a recall petition for Chu? At least it would make the news cycle and remind everyone before the next election what a POS he is.

Has a petition ever done anything ever? (I'm sure I will be told that yes there have been cases).

When I hear the word petition I immediately think of that dork Claude from Degrassi jr high.

It would be cathartic. And the one against Gondek became national news. At the very least, the people that voted for Chu because they didn’t know, will know.

But being on the Tik Tok keeps me up to date on all the new stuff so I can be the "cool dad".

Not hard to do if the full conservative media appartus is being leveraged on this recall to make it look like a bigger deal than it really is.

Recall legislation is a UCP "brainchild", and with such a high threshold of signatures needed, it isn't designed to ever be successful.

It does, however, provide a fertile space for populism and amplifies the grievances of said populists. It also makes for a great fundraising grift.

Or in other words, it is working exactly as intended.

The city voted down the idea of a plebiscite for the city-wide rezoning today and they’ll meet on April 20.
