This place is on my bucket list to visit one day - looks amazing!! Have cousins in China and friends from here who have been and say it's pretty awesome.

I have a friend that lived in Harbin for a while when he went to China to teach English. It sounds like an awesome place, but a little sketchy. He went on a date with a Chinese girl and some local guys saw it and smashed his face in with a bottle. Apparently they aren't very liberal when it comes to interracial dating. It was actually a group of Russians that came and saved him because they assumed he was also Russian. Despite all that, he always talks about how cool of a city Harbin is.

Obviously anecdotal, and clearly can't be applied to "them" all being against that haha. Two of my friends are Canadians, now living in China and married to Chinese women with plenty of Chinese friends who are normal, nice human beings. What happened to your friend was done by terrible ######bags, which exist everywhere.

NJ goalie plays the puck past the center redline, gets penalty.

Don't recall ever seeing that before in 40 odd years...

Not only A&W but McDonalds too. That said I'm not old enough to belong to either coffee group.

ha - this is sooo the two neighbours beside me.
the one neighbour two doors down has a group of buddies he gets together with every morning. he usually heads out around 6:30am and is back around 8:15am.
a few years ago he fell and injured his hip and couldn't drive for a number of months, so my next door neighbour started driving him every morning.
now they both go... and they usually go together!

Ugh...the bane of my existence.

Look...its great for old guys to have a community and a friend group and their breakfast or whatever.

But the financial/tax advice doled out over A&W breakfasts would topple lesser nations. Its unbelievable.

My pops has different groups of friends. His McDonald's morning coffee/newspaper friends and his community track friends he meets multiple times each day for walks. It's great for them to stay social as they go into their 70s and 80s.

Actually...all joking aside, that might not be a bad idea.

One of my...I dont know what you'd call it, Mottos or Tenets, is to dispense advice for free. Because when people are afraid to ask for advice because they dont want to get charged, thats when they make uninformed decisions and those decisions have a tendency to cause me a lot of stress later and cost individuals more.

Me, Slava, Millertime (mortgage guy is always handy!), just need an insurance guy...just hold court and whoever wants to come is welcome?

Not a bad idea. Not a bad idea at all.

Sounds like you need a lawyer in the group. Unfortunately, you will have to move from A/W to a small theatre to fit all of us.

Can't swing a dead cat around CP without hitting a lawyer or two.

The biggest problem with Lawyers is specialization. I mean...within the context of a round-table type discussion. There are many bigger problems with lawyers than that.

Like, do you want Personal Injury, do you want Property, do you want Criminal Defense? Tax? Family?

Every Lawyer is typically quite specialized.
