The problem isn't that the Flames lost, the problem is that they did not perform (in the first 45 minutes of the game) like a team that was intent on winning. No physical pushback (aside from Hamonic, and look where that got him), very little offensive spark, awful d-zone coverage. Not to mention the powerkills.
It took them going down 4-1 for them to flip the switch and play like they can. It is frustrating to watch as a fan because you know that they can be and should have been better than they were for most of the night.
Regardless, there's another game tomorrow night and I sure hope they can play as they should right from puck drop.
Also, Stockton is playing tonight and hopefully they can beat the piss out of Bakersfield, that always makes me feel better.

Yes. This is true. This irritated me while watching most of the game, but like you it also does install me with some confidence that what we see tomorrow night will be very different.
Well played.

Yeah, the third period turnaround (especially by Johnny) had me bucked up a bit and pissed off a bit at the same time.

I’m a bigger fan than you! I went to Flames games in my mom’s belly!
But seriously, how big of a fan you think you are doesn’t excuse an inability to actually enjoy hockey or look at each game for what it is.
If letting your emotions swing based on the final score of one game is what being a fan is to you, have at it. I’ll take actually enjoying the games, enjoying hockey, and cheering for my team while not losing composure after one measly game.
Getting upset over one game doesn’t make you a fan. It’s no different than planning the parade after one win. It just doesn’t seem that smart to me.

You young 'uns crack me up. I was a young buck in 1980 and remember Ed Whelan doing the first broadcast "can you believe it?"

Oh yeah, I remember a young long haired Tom Lyisak proudly sporting the Flaming A.
