Really, after the crap show that the last 8 season openers were, this wasnt totally unexpected. Being even slightly successful on the PP wouldve helped a lot. FYI, Vancouver also went 6-3-1 to start the season last year. Regroup and come out guns blazing Saturday.

You would think, especially after last year, that this team would figure out the importance of special teams. They literally change the ebb and flow of the game.
I don't care if they have to spend the next 3 days working on it, this powerplay has to get going. This is absolutely unacceptable and it will kill the season before it even starts.
This was the team's biggest problem last year, and it killed any momentum they were generating tonight whenever they got the man advantage.

This is why saying "it's just preseason" gets a little tiring. Not mailing it in during those games might get them ready for the season. Lets stop excusing pattern behaviour leading to similar results.
