Leafs aren't trading a C on a nice contract for a D that is being overtaken by rookies, on an expiring contract. Oh and adding salary to do it.

Leafs don’t need a puck moving defenseman. Their battles with Boston are getting to them. They need 2 more Muzzins.
They are desperate for defense, but I don’t see them adding a small non physical dman. They already have Zaitsev locked in. They’ll add someone cheap(ish)

Get ready to boo this man, but I would take Kadri on the Flames and move Backlund down to the 3rd.

I am surprised at how many of you would want Kadri on the Flames. He's a complete ######, Gio and him have a history of hating each other, he's a jerk in the dressing room and he not only has a bad history of attitude problems with coaches, but he's also been suspended more than once for greasy plays. Logistically maybe, but he'd wear out his welcome quickly in Calgary.

Thats some bold proclamations for a guy who has spent 10 years in the same Dressing room and seems pretty well liked by his team mates.

Even aside from being a goddamn legend, 'Nolan Ryan' is such a bad ass name, age 72 and all.

Very true. That is an all-star name. He was born to be awesome.

Yeah I don’t want Kadri either, but it’s because he’s a bonehead when he laces up. I’ve never heard a peep about his character off ice.

Nolan is in the Astros organization now and yeah, I'd make that trade. Right now.

I'm curious what six letter name you called Kadri? I think it might rhyme with trucker, but there are some other nice choices too.

I’d take that bet.
There are better players to move than a guy they really need.

Just the kind of guy that might win you a Stanley Cup.
And I mean that seriously.
And I don’t think he’s a jerk in the dressing room.
We need some players the rest of the league hates.
Gio would love to have him on the team.
There are many players you hate playing for the opposition. Those are the guys you want playing for your team

The prices are so prohibitive teams really have little to worry about (unless they are in salary cap hell) as I feel the NHL has kind of made this something that is available for use but they really don't want teams doing it. I really like Mitch Marner but is he worth 4 x 1st round picks? I don't think so. It would have been worth it for McDavid but I can't think of many other young players that would warrant that.
