Isles down the middle now
Barzal
Nelson
Pageau
Brassard
Cizikas
NYI has 4 firsts and 7 2nds in the next 2 years.

No condition on the 2nd....1st switches to next year if a top 3 this year...3rd only if Isles win the cup.

That's a crazy payment on the surface. It seems like this guy really came out of nowhere this year, on a bad Sens team. I may be guilty in being pretty ignorant about Ottawa's players, so maybe he's been good for a few years.

I'd say the return is about the same.
Brannstrom = 1st
2nd = 2nd
wildcard is the conditional 3rd, but if they win the cup who cares.

The likelihood of the 3rd is quite low, but even a 1st and 2nd for Pageau is quite a haul.

Just for reference the Isles could have signed an RFA to an offer sheet this past summer for a 2020 1st, 2nd, and 3rd if the AAV was between $6,341,153-$8,454,871.

I feel like this trade and the Coleman trade are both possibly better returns than what Stone returned last year (both are close or better to the Hall trade return too)

Agree with this. Coleman at least has a year remaining at a great cap hit. Make me nervous if the flames are interested in someone with term, if the prices are this high.

could have got him last year for a 2nd or 3rd probably
with the prices being paid, i would be leery of making any moves

Brannstrom was a top 15ish prospect at the time
The pick is likely in then 16-22 range
Stones return was better, this is a great return though

Wow. An over payment I wouldn't have made. Good for Sens.

Sens could have two top 5 picks and another on late teens
Dorion has done a great rebuild job

Stone is definitely better by nature of getting Brannstrom.
Coleman looks great on its own but that would be for a top 9 20 goal scorer at a ridiculously low cap price with an extra year compared to UFAs. Different deals.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. He has done a good job getting the raw materials necessary for a rebuild, but he still has to turn all of these into a competitive team before the rebuild can be assessed.

If these are the types of prices today, I hope we can get a first for Hamonic

Awful by Lamoriello. If I was Treliving i'd be offering him everything we have to see what he's willing to pay.
