Yeah that'll happen... Been meaning to replay both XCOM games again. What a blast

Aren't we all kind of nerds by nature playing video games as adults or has it largely more acceptable now? I often wonder if I was single at my age if it would be wise to put "video games" in the hobby section of my dating profile.

It's definitely more acceptable now. I am single and I probably wouldn't have any issues putting it in my dating profile if I thought it was something worth talking about. Quite a few of my female friends are gamers, too.

I'm not sure it is any more geeky than model train enthusiast, stamp collector, or ham radio fanatic of the past.

Nah it's definitely more mainstream than that now, at least from what I can tell

An american example but still probably fits closely to canada

Quote:
More than 150 million Americans play video games, and 64 percent of American households are home to at least one person who plays video games regularly, or at least three hours per week. 60 percent of Americans play video games daily. The average gamer is 34 years old and 72 percent are age 18 or older. Women age 18 and older represent a significantly greater portion of the video game-playing population (33 percent) than boys under age 18 (17 percent).

"Gamegate" is not a movement I ascribe to. However, as I mention the Kotaku Persona article from the weekend, or the articles defending Mortal Combat's microtransactions, yes, gaming journalism is a joke and completely falls flat when educating or representing its audience. That's why I say this isn't black and white.

If that means I fall into your classification of misogyny and racism, I can only recommend a bit of nuance on your own end.
Dude, stop feeding Resolute. You are doing exactly the only reason he exists on CP. Just put him on ignore and move on.

Despite swearing off video games for a good long while, recently I was bored and thought "hmm, wonder what's been added to Path of Exile?", which has been followed by insane amounts of addiction and fun. It's amazing how much bigger and better it is than the original product, would recommend if you like feeding your inner mob-slaying psychopath.

Decided to take a break from strategy games and give assassin's Creed oddysey another chance. But this time on PC.

So far I'm glad I did. Looks much better, controls are way smoother ( I hate controllers) and it's definitely grabbed me more than Origins did too, which I maybe put 10 hours into before I got bored of the lack of direction in the story

Anyone tried Pathway? It's like Xcom in the Indiana Jones universe.

looks like mixed reviews on the game

some are saying the RPG depth is not there and some features in the game are broken (eg. trying to sneak up on AI enemies but they know exactly where you are at all times)

Such a good game. I just wish I had more time these days.
