Considering that would probably be Montreal, I'm ok with waiting some more.
Though I wouldn't be surprised to see Winnipeg make an 04 type run this year.

Yup, another fun fact from that year. And a bit more impressive than this as it was 5 out of 6 and not 5 out of 7.
Though the only two not make it being Edmonton and Toronto is pretty funny too.
As for 04, if I recall the Flames were the only Canadian team left by the third round. Anyone remember who was left in the second? Montreal? I think there was only one other besides the Flames but I could be way off base. Obviously Vancouver didn't make it. Heehee.

Montreal went on to win the Cup.
I can't recall it happening since, although I could be wrong. This could finally be the year a Canadian team wins the Stanley Cup!

It would be epic to have a all Canadian final, the last time it happened was 1989, Calgary vs Montreal and Calgary came up on top.
If my memory serves me correctly, there were only 2 times that were all Canadian final and both times were Calgary vs Montreal, and each team won it once.

Unless I'm completely off, I'm pretty sure Quebec traded Lindros to the Flyers. He played for the Rangers way later on.

Toronto and Montreal both made the second round. The Leafs defeated the Sens in the first round, and the Flames took out the Nucks. The Flames were the only one to make the third round.

The only two times post expansion. In the Original Six days, the Leafs and Habs met in the Final numerous times, and in the early history of the Cup, it was only Canadian teams.

Tomorrow will decide if we see four or five Canadian teams in.
If the Bruins lose in any fashion, the Senators are in. (Bruins: 95 points, Senators: 97 points)
If the Bruins win, and the Senators win, or lose in overtime, the Senators are in. (Bruins: 97 points, Senators 98-99 points)
If the Bruins win in any fashion and the Senators lose in regulation time, the Bruins are in. (Bruins: 97 points & 37+ ROW, Senators: 97 points, & 36 ROW)
This is Ottawa's time to make it happen.

Technically, they traded him to both the Rangers AND the Flyers. A league arbitrator ruled in favor of the Flyers. Had the Rangers won, the early years of the Colorado Avalanche would have been VERY different.

1992-1993 had 6 - Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Quebec, Calgary, Winnipeg.
That was the year of the Gretzky high stick on Gilmour that Leafs fans go on about.

Boston and LA out of the playoffs would be ridiculous, two heavyweights and consistent cup contenders don't make it? Wow.

Outside shot that Pittsburgh misses. That would be a disaster, lose to Buffalo last game of the season to miss.

Oops...my bad. I meant to say Lindros traded to Flyers.
Thanks for answering the original question. IIRC, there were 3 Canadian teams that went to Round 2 in the 2003-04 playoffs. Calgary defeated Vancouver in 7, Toronto defeated Ottawa in 7, and Montreal defeated Boston in 7. All were good series.
Only the Flames made it past the second round, and obviously advanced to the Cup Finals. It seems like yesterday.

Yep, the Flames were the only canadian team in round 3. The Flames, Habs, and Leafs were in the 2nd round.
