Official "Eating Crow" Thread
Well. I'll be the first to admit I was a total doubter. Did not see this coming at all and still refused to believe it was possible until earlier today. Congratulations to the Flames!
While I will not go so far as to make any pube related wagers, I am willing to acknowledge being wrong and wish the boys on!

A good friend of mine bet me $100 the Flames would not make the playoffs. What a sucker!
Haha! That money is going to pay for my golf game tomorrow and a few celebratory beers afterwards!

I said in our season preview show that I thought the Flames would be in a competition with the Sabres for dead last and saying that on paper, the Flames have one of the weakest forward groups in the league. That was in part to try and tamp down any expectations, but I never in my wildest dreams would've have expected playoffs.
I have never been more happy to be completely 100% wrong in my entire life.

Everybody who voted Calgary in this poll should hang their head in shame.
http://forum.calgarypuck.com/poll.ph...ts&pollid=1026
of course I voted Ottawa which was a bad choice as well.

For me, my "eating crow" is that in 2013-14, I was dissapointed when we'd win games and get further and further away from 1st overall. I really would've liked Ekblad and didn't think being middle of the pack would have any reward other than the 8th-10th last place treadmill we've been stuck on.
But okay - Who needs Ekblad when we got Sam Bennett, Brandon Hickey, and a playoff spot?

Flames lost 8 games in a row and grabbed a couple picks at the deadline by trading Glencross. Season went pretty much exactly as I thought it would....More or less.

I remember thinking that they'd improve something like 10 points... and then thinking "wait, isn't that almost playoff range? Nah... get real".
Already 20 points up on last season, with a game left to play. What a season already.

I didn't believe they'd do it all year. Not once until they were up 2 zip.
I did the calculations on chances and no matter how good the odds were, I couldn't believe they'd make it. I'm so happy

Does anyone have a link to a clip/video of Healy making his comments about Johnny Hockey during that Winnipeg game?

I was one of those guys who would remind people how bad the Flames were going to be this year. I had it all figured out. I did not see this coming. Not this year. That's why we play the games. Lesson learned.

I was in the same boat. I split seats and purposely didn't take games near the end of the year because "who wants to see them playing out the string?" Great choice. I gradually became sold that it could happen though and now all bets are off as we start with a clean sheet!
