I had a moment last night where I was grateful that Trick or Treating is still a thing. It's not exactly like when I was a kid, but it's neat to think that the basic premise is still very much the same, and that my kids can essentially experience the same thing that I did (which is becoming less and less common these days).

Took our kids one year (because I had the day off) and it was a complete nightmare (IMO). Huge lineups; tons of kids running around, cutting in line; parents couldn't be bothered to care. All for a crappy sucker or single piece of candy from someone making minimum wage and counting down the seconds until their shift is done -- no thanks.

Weather was as good as can be expected. A little windy, but that just encourages you to keep moving

Seriously this is just stupid. Either someone thought they were funny, or they weren't paying attention.

Any houses get egged near you? One group of kids came by to say there were some people egging houses and they were headed towards my direction. I stood out on the porch afterwards for about 15 minutes keeping a casual eye out but didn't see anything.
Also shoutout to the parents who were all dressed up and in the spirit. Especially the one dad wearing a blowup T-Rex costume. Costume of the night

No eggs by me but that would have pissed me off. I probably would have deserved it as I egged a couple houses in elementary school in the 80s.

Its possible, but yeah as a parent if I saw this

Police said the package has a Halloween-themed label on the front and contains several jujube candies inside. A sticker on the back of the package indicates THC content of the candies, which alerted the parent.

I'd be treating it as real.

Lol, I think I know exactly who that is. He's been wearing that costume for the last few Halloweens, and he always goes out with his kids (in McKenzie Towne).

I'm used to getting 50-100 kids to the house. We bought a new house last March, we got 3. Pretty disappointing as I love Halloween, but for a while I thought we weren't going to get any. 3>0
Was a real rainy, crappy night though. I still would have toughed it out when I was a kid.

21 in Shaganappi. We always seem to get around 20. I can't imagine some of you who had over a hundred (or 180!). You must have just stood at the door for hours?

We went to Canmore to celebrate my youngest's birthday (Halloween baby!), and did our trick or treating there. Lots of kids, lots of houses decorated, lots of spirit. Loved it.

I grew up in Canmore, we used to do our trick or treating on skateboards for maximum ground coverage. Did you hit the seniors centre? That place is payday, if they still do it. They just have a really long table with all the seniors lined up, and you walk down cashing in at every person. Sure, you have to explain your costume at every one, but it was worth it.

I had 7 kids at my place last night.
When I was a kid, you yelled "Trick Or Treat?" and then waited for with your bag open for whatever the homeowner/occupant put into it, said 'thank you' and went on your way. Is that not the case anymore?
I had two groups of kids (one of three, one of two) who when I brought the candy to the door decided to start picking through it, take what they wanted and then turned and left. Damn ungrateful kids! Get off my fake graveyard!

We didn't. We don't know Canmore all that well - it's been our winter escape for years but neither me or Mrs. Puppet really know it - so we just took advice from locals and went to the north side of the Trans Canada. Seems like Canmore knows how to do Halloween - both kids want to go back next year.

He could also be going to another message board, laughs at how ####ty the people in his neighbourhood are when said people are also among those in the message board and is now surprised when nobody shows up to his door
