Gusev's 2 year Contract:

-19-20: $700K Base Salary ($4.3M Signing Bonus)
-20-21: $4M Base Salary (Modified No Trade)
That's an interesting structure. Basically he's going for a bunch of up-front cash, and then a higher qualifying offer afterwards, right?

That ain't bad.
I'm pretty sure there's not a roster in the NHL you don't like.

To be fair, I like the defense (sneaky excellent with Butcher and Severson entering their primes) and the top end talent, particularly given that Hall will no doubt play with Hughes rather than Hischier (speed speed speed). But there are certainly some question marks on the wings. And relying on Blackwood and his 23 NHL games of experience just isn't a reasonable plan.

Vegas is still well set up:

Marchessault-Karlsson-Smith
Pacioretty-Statsny-Stone
Pirri-Eakin-Tuch
Nosek-Carrier-Reeves

Schmidt-Engelland
McNabb-Theodore
Merrill-Holden

It's not bad - they have $1M to spare. They don't have an elite C, but they have three really good ones.

Not sure about Engelland as a top pairing D, as in your lineup.

Yea I have no idea how they will run their defense. They have 6 left shots and Engelland so its anyone's guess how it will shape up but I figured their top 4 will most likely be Schmidt, Theodore, McNabb and Engelland and the 2 former are smooth skating puck movers and the 2 latter are bigger more physical guys..

I think they put Holden above Engelland this year. They are certainly paying him more.

NJD, COL and DAL have all made some sneaky good improvements this off season.
