Florence Brunelle, ranked 7th in the world, unfortunately penalized and will not advance.

Despite that, big medal opportunity for Canada

Pierre-Gilles, ranked 14th, now penalized in the Men's 1000m Short Track Quarter-Finals.

Canada just filled with goons

Pascal Dion goes down in his race.

Was one of Canada's biggest medal hopefuls.

Damn damn damn

Can someone explain to me what the Canadian did there? Seems like he was already past the Chinese. Don't know how that's a penalty.

Seems like other athletes keep getting disqualified. Very suspicious if you ask me. Is anybody seeing this as sketchy?

Wouldn't say it's suspicious at all.

The officials for all these events are ones that attend the World Cups all year around.

If you had any doubt, look no further than the Chinese skater that just got disqualified.

Short Track is just a very physical sport. Especially in 500m

Then what about that Korean guy who just get kicked out? Is that legit? Seemed to me the Chinese guy even touched the back of his leg to cause him to lose balance a little.

It's a seasoned official. Teams are allowed to appeal if they feel a wrong decision was made.

Kim Boutin wins Bronze in Women's 500m Short Track Speed Skating!!

She continues her success from 2018, where she took home 1 Silver & 2 Bronze for Canada!

Too bad #1 ranked Pascal Dion will not be competing for a medal.

Would've been an excellent result to win back-to-back medals just minutes apart.

A Bronze will do.

Nothing better than unexpected Canadian medalists!!

Really helps offset the pain of projected medalists not being able to get it done.

What a day 3 for Canada. Some heartbreak to be sure but 4 medals (and an unexpected one to boot) is awesome.

Wow shock medal. First ever ski jumping medal for Canada. First Canada or US medal in ski jumping since 1924!

BTW Italy hammered Sweden in the curling semifinal and Norway beat GB. Final tomorrow morning.
Speaking of the 4 person team, the Italian girl is a skip and just missed out on qualifying for these Olympics. The guy will be playing third next week.

And I agree, why couldn't Gallant/Peterman have played this week. Canada making rules difficult for themselves.
