I think Ray Odums is missing from our list of best defensive backs.

Those 93 & 94 Stamps teams were beyond dominant, its a shame their Achilles heel seemed to be cold, snowy weather.
That 94 WF Darren Flutie TD is right up there with Bure in game 7 OT as my biggest childhood sports heartbreak moments. Vancouver-based teams broke my heart twice that same year.

True, but hasn't stopped people from trying to prevent people from using it at all.

Former Stampeder Reggie Begelton is making an impression with the Packers...
Perhaps there's a wild card in the group: Reggie Begelton, an intriguing prospect signed out of the CFL in January.
“The one thing that really stands out is you can tell he is super invested,” coach Matt LaFleur said of Begelton. “He’s done a great job at picking up everything that we’ve thrown at him. He does a great job. We’ve been quizzing these guys quite a bit, and he is repeatedly at the top. I’ve been just super impressed with his approach and just excited to see him and see what he’s got to offer on the field.”

That’s a silly thing to try and prevent.
A thug can be anyone who uses physical intimidation/violence to get what they want.
Calling a young black man (Or group of them) a thug is a dog whistle and ignorant at the very best.

Reports are that the CFL has asked the league for 42.5 million in aid (down from the original $150 million ask in April)
The CFL has sent Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault a revised financial request.
A CFL source said Friday the league is seeking roughly $42.5 million in aid. In April, it asked the federal government for up to $150 million in financial assistance in the event of a cancelled 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the time, CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie said the league was anxious "to be accountable to taxpayers," and would attempt to repay a portion of government assistance through "community programs, tourism promotion, the Grey Cup, our digital channels."
The source added the new request is to cover operating costs and player salaries for a shortened 2020 season. The proposal also includes a letter of support from the CFL Players' Association.

I wonder how much of that $42.5M will effectively get "re-paid" back to the government via income taxes. Not to mention other jobs that are created if the league can re-open.
I'm assuming this is all still happening without fans in the stands though -- especially if it's a hub city format.

Interesting article from Edmonton about the state of the (publicly-owned) Eskimos, with a $12M rainy day fund to hopefully get them through COVID. Also mentions having to contribute 950k to the league to keep the Alouettes afloat last year.

Just pass on offering plate around Saskatchewan, I’m sure they could raise $42 million to pay players just from that province.

That's actually an interesting point. Could they "crowdfund" it? You only need 800,000 fans to chip in about $50. I'd gladly do that.
I don't think they have time to pull it off though.... They've been way too slow on everything. That's probably what will doom the season.

That's been my main issue with Ambrosie throughout this process, he hasn't shown any kind of leadership or decisiveness. Communication has been terrible as well and when you don't communicate, trust breaks down.
