Interesting. I thought Ruzicka and Big Z would have made it through the first round of cuts.

I thought Ruzicka and zavgorodny would have made it another week.

Ruzicka hopefully gets some good skating instruction this year.

was impressed with Zavgorodny but I guess this just gives him more time to get ready for OHL season since he was going back anyways

Makes sense that all the CHL players were cut. The regular season starts tomorrow for the WHL.

Meh. Although I agree that those two played well, in the end of the day they were never going to play for the club to start the season and training camp isn't the time to throw players bones for good work that despite being impressive, isn't good enough to meet the final goal - selecting the team members and building cohesiveness within those final players.

I'm a fan of big and early cuts.

Seven goalies still in camp makes no sense whatsoever.

Nothing surprising. None of those junior players were pushing to make the team

When does the AHL camp open? I suspect when that happens there would be another big round?

I think we will see a massive group of players cut after the next game.

Starting tomorrow you can put players on waivers for assignment to the AHL.

I believe AHL camps will start next week.

It probably will depend on how long it takes the main roster to recover from their jet lag. I can imagine that they Flames Guaranteed some of the PTOs a set number of games. With 6 preseason games remaining it is likely that we wont see a massive cut for the next couple of games.

Surprised at Zav. But he is 18. He showed well enough IMO. Lots to get excited about there. Plus he's going to play on a line with 2020 potential 1st OA pick Lafreniere. So he should be having a couple of killer seasons in the Q

I really hope they aren't seriously considering Glass as a challenger for the backup position.

Well, in fairness Smith, Gillies and Schneider are in China, so its really only 4 goalies in Camp.

Glass & McDonald will probably see some time as backups to Rittich over the next 2 games. Maybe get in a period like Parsons did.

They want these guys to have great year's in Junior so not surprising they'd want them to be at their team's respective junior training camps as long as possible.
