I really hope the Russian player that will never come over here doesn't get more votes than Lomberg lol. Poor guy.

McDonald or Pollock. Goalies are a crapshoot but at one point he was highly regarded. Pollock has been just ok at the pro level but he looked very good in the development camp. As he should have.

I was very unimpressed with Lomberg in his call up last year and don't think he should see the NHL again. I don't now what the Flames were thinking in calling him up.

Did Lomberg save a child from a burning building that I missed?

Figured Healey will play more games in the NHL than Lomberg so picked Healey, but frankly it's a crapshoot from here on in.

Ehliz, 25 years old. Produced consistently in the DEL. He is an outside shot, but probably the most likely of who is left to make a splash at camp.

There is a final ledge here before the no hope group. It consists of Pollock, Lomberg, McDonald and Healy.

Honestly, this is getting tougher and tougher just to believe in any of these guys.

I liked Mattson before last year where his numbers dipped playing in the same league he did the year before. Not a good sign to see regression at age 20.

Zach Fischer's numbers dipped as well, which is something you never want to see for a 20 year old playing in junior. Had some injury troubles, but still not an encouraging year from him. At least Fischer can play a physical game, which might get him to the NHL in the future, but I doubt he'll be anything more than a 4th line grinder.

Yasin Ehliz is intriguing because he's been a pro for several years, and might have the ability to translate that to some spot duty as an injury call up, but I doubt he'll be much more than that.

Pollock at least worked his way back into the AHL last year, but in limited action. Not bad numbers considering he was in the ECHL the year before. Possibly something in him still, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I rate Lomberg's talent at the same level as Pollock, but he brings the feistiness factor that helped him get a call up last year. I would be surprised to see Lomberg play in the NHL again.

Healey has no offense at the AHL level, and I'm not sure his physical nature will be enough to get him to the NHL.

Honestly, I think I have both McDonald ahead of anyone else on this list and Schneider might be in that mix as well, and I'm not terribly high on either of them. However, we know goalies are a crap shoot, so they still have potential until they're 25ish. I refuse to rate the Russians because we know they're never coming over.

Here's how I see the rest of the list:

McDonald
Ehliz
Fischer
Schneider
Lomberg
Pollock
Mattson
Healey

Not rated: Karnaukhov, Rafikov

I am actually impressed it took this long to pick him. His play style screams "fan favorite" and he is one of the only names most people likely recognize as this point. And to be honest, a random number generator has as good of chance as any of us of making a strong selection at this point.
