How good is Janicke?

Is he expected to spend most of his time in the AHL?

Lord knows the Rapid City Rush could use a massive talent upgrade. They were absolutely atrocious last season... like, reaaaaaallly bad.

If the Flames do send prospects there, you'd would want them on a competitive team, I'd think.

The Wranglers should be much more watchable this year

Assuming Sutter doesn't come back, I'd guess Gallant will be the captain.

I hope Sutter has one more year in him- isn't he close to some AHL records (or did he pass them already)? His injury took a long time, and he was slower afterwards.

I missed Gallant for a chunk of the season last year. Was he hurt? Was he in the pressbox when all the kids started coming in?

The loss of McLain will hurt team toughness IMO. Who fills the void? I know Gallant will drop 'em but he isn't a big guy.

Wranglers are kinda low on right-shot forwards, especially if Coronato plays in the NHL. As of right now they only have Frk and Janicke, unless I'm missing someone.

Edit: Forgot Klapka and Schwindt, although I fully expect one of those two to play with the Flames, honestly.

It looks like he's 27 games away from being the "modern" (since 1972) AHL games played leader. He'd need to play at least 2 more seasons to be the all-time leader.

The loss of Mclain will be felt but now we have a chance to see a new #### disturber, hopefully they will be smarter and disturb without the penalties.

I hope Sutter plays and gets the modern record at the very least but his performance was not great last season and did not seem to add much to the team.

Klapka if he can stay consistent for sure, but to me that is his issue. One minute he looks amazing, next minute he looks asleep on his feet.

Klapka is gonna spend some time with the big club IMO, Schwindt's ceiling at this point seems to be bottom-six PK potential, I imagine he's maybe got a cup of joe left in his NHL career.

Wranglers will be looking for a new Assistant coach and Video coach

https://chl.ca/whl-wild/article/wena...2024-25-staff/

Quote:
The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the Western Hockey League (WHL), are excited to announce the hiring of Don Nachbaur as the team’s new head coach. Nachbaur joins the club from a three-year stint in the Calgary Flames organization, serving as an American Hockey League assistant coach with the Calgary Wranglers, and previously the Stockton Heat.
Quote:
The Wenatchee Wild also wish to welcome Dan Johnston, who will follow Nachbaur from the Wranglers coaching staff, as the team’s new assistant coach for the 2024-25 season. The Wild sincerely thank Andrew Sarauer for his service as the club’s assistant coach in the 2023-24 season, and offer their best wishes for his future. A formal announcement on Johnston’s hiring will follow Friday morning.

Kinda hoping Michael Stone gets tapped. I think he'd be a good fit with an org that is now clearly focused on defensive prospects.

Matt Stajan has been with the Hitmen for three seasons now. Perhaps he would be considered.

I kinda suspected a post-playing days move into coaching.

The legendary Bryan Helmer's record is safe.
