If I was an aspiring soccer player I’d be aiming to land with Cavalry and Tommy Wheeldon Jr. He’s doing things the way they should be done for the CPL. Not only do you have players like Loturri, Pepple, and Farsi moving along to higher and better levels but Waterman did that and he’s now playing for Canada on the World Cup roster.

Further to this, I’d be aiming to play with Foothills leading up. Jay Wheeldon is the TD there, so it’s definitely a feeder club for Cavs. “Unofficially”. No other CPL club has that.

Oh man... summer road trips to Kelowna are already fun; going to cheer on the Cavs there makes them even that much better. Definitely gonna put on some km's there, haha. So happy (and surprised) that a Kelowna franchise has advanced this far already.
Also, I'll say it again - Lake Country United would be such a dope name.

It would be bitter sweet getting Yao back. On one hand he is a force, and a big part of the team, on the other I would love to watch him become progress to a better league.

Selfishly I want him back. I don't think it's going to happen though, I think either he heads to another league or other CPL teams get in on him too.

That's wild to me that Yao's contract wasn't picked up. Could it be a contract formality and they're looking to sign him to a different deal rather than picking up an option? Same thought about Pantemis

It is funny, having watched Yao and Waterman, I always thought Yao was the superior player with Cavalry than Waterman was. Good on Waterman for progressing and making it to play for Canada, but I still feel like Yao is the better prospect. Maybe I am nuts.

Would be outstanding if Yao could eventually make the back line on our national team. I also thought he was a much better defender than Waterman during their times here. Yao is still really young, and already such a force back there. He's definitely MLS ready, IMO.

Yao to me, was the best player on the pitch for Cavalry bar none. Granted, last year was the weakest we have been.

Oh right, it was... I believe the story goes there that the building was the problem, not necessarily the restaurant in it. Seems the restaurant violations were a side effect of the state of the building.
Anyways, curious what you can share soon on a new supporters bar somewhere, Sherm!
