Cavalry FC Extends the Contracts of Ali Musse and Myer Bevan

Happy about this; both are talented offensive players. Bevan had that insane strike against the Whitecaps in the CC's and Musse really had some magical moments last year. Happy with this!

So are our attacking forwards set now? Musse, Bevan, Beckford and Mason?

Room for one more?

Real pleased to see Bevan back. Hopefully he can stay healthy
I like Musse best when he's in that hybrid midfield role he started last season in.

Mason has not been confirmed.
Personally I was not a fan.

Cavalry and 3 year contracts, name a better duo.

Excited to see Bevan return. He started slow but was on absolute fire before getting hurt. I think most supporters would have started him over Mason by the end of the year.

Musse has always been a bit polarizing. At times he's the best player on the pitch, other times he's dreadful. There's enough there to like with him you just never know which Musse will show up during a game.

I'd still love to see Assi get another loan. His athleticism is rare in this league, although his points were less remarkable.

Who knows, maybe he'd be able to up his game after a year of pro experience. He's only 18.

+1 for Assi. Think he can have a similar breakout to Sean Rea in a second pro season

I guess I didn't see in Assi what you folks were seeing. I saw an easily pushed off, out-of-position attacker in sheltered minutes. Not much finish either.

Definitely would take a second look though if the consensus thinks the potential is there.

I think a large part of the appeal was the contrast to the cast of attackers Cavalry had. Assi could chase long balls and push defenders with his speed creating space for everyone. I also like players who want to attack the middle of the field. You're right though. No finish.

Canadian Championship info is out. First round is regional again. 5 West teams (Pacific, Vancouver, TSS Rovers, Cavalry, Valour) plus either the League1 Ontario or League1 Quebec winner in the "West Region".

Draw is next week.

When will the schedule be released/tickets for single games (or packages) be released?

Was flirting with picking up seasons this year, but will end up picking up their ticket packs (similar to what I did last season)

Any reason why Jesse Daley wouldn't be listed on the Cavs roster?

I've heard the schedule is supposed to be announced this week. Last year it was announced in early February.

At least we don't have to play Edmonton in the first round again

Ottawa are significantly weaker this morning.

I may have this wrong, but the way I understand it is that 1 "professional" team (Montreal, Halifax, York, Forgery, Ottawa) will be pulled from the Eastern Pot and added to the Western Pot, which is made up of the mighty Cavalry, Pacific, Vancouver FC & Valour plus the BC League1 winners Rovers . Then both Ontario & Quebec League1 winners (considered "semi-professional") would go into the Eastern pot.

Also, the article mentions this:

Venue Availability

"Halifax Wanderers, Valour FC, Cavalry FC and Vancouver FC would not be able to host in the preliminary round of Canadian Championship play because of stadium availability and weather considerations."

What happens if Cavalry are drawn against Valour, Vancouver FC or Halifax? Wouldn't be the CPL way to try to answer this obvious question ahead of the draw now, would it?!

Redraw? Clarke Stadium neutral site game?? Completely "random" draw that results in Cavalry playing at Tim Hortons Field???
