Stroman is having a hell of a year. Has 1 year left on his deal, 23 mil.
Could he be a target for the Jays with the hole in the rotation? Cubs don’t look like they’re going to be competitive but that could still change if they go on a run.
He’s always proclaimed his love for TO but not sure the feeling was mutual with Atkins/Shapiro. Did time heal?
I’d love to see it personally.

Romano's 95 MPH middle middle fastball to Yordan Alvarez was quite the pitch selection, thank god for KK. Romano has good stuff but that was just playing with fire.

I can't stand Stroman personally. He was always self centred in the "look at me" fashion. I think he wore thin on management too. He's also done it a few times now where when he doesn't see eye to eye with someone he proclaimed on social media that the "whole team doesn't like him" or something to that effect. It's an immature way of blabbing to social media childish nonsense. I don't mind guys saying in an interview what some problems are but to say nobody likes someone is complete bs.

I don’t like him either (but then again I don’t like Manoah as well) but I just think it’s too expensive. I expect them to take a flyer on someone who doesn’t cost much. (But please not another White/Frasso deal) Then I think they’ll hope that fills in til one of Ryu or Manoah is ready.

I think that would be their normal course of action but I think they’re caught in a tough place right now. You cannot deal the marquee prospects to get the top flight pitcher, but Atkins has also maxed out his somewhat risky reclamation projects. They need certainty but they can’t afford to pay for it given the prospect capital given up. For me, if Biggio appeals to someone he’d be the first I’d offer. Espinal hasn’t lived up to expectations like he should have. So he’d be intriguing to other teams. Aside from that I can’t see valuable assets they have the luxury of trading. I will say they could change everything if they fall out of contention. If that happens they could get a nice return for Chapman, then look to the off-season to open the wallet and sign a vet pitcher while also having the capital to trade for a third baseman. But that’s looking ahead.

Meh, it's a non-story. Worst case it's a guy who enjoys getting a paycheque and is doing everything he can to keep it, or step above that he realizes what he tweeted wasn't right and wants to make amends. Fans getting angry, we're in cancel culture times. What else is he supposed to do?

Oh it's a story.
He tweeted something insensitive and hurtful, then made a PR apology. Now he catches the first pitch on the first night of Pride Weekend?
If he wants to show support for 2SLGBTQ+ he can do it in a different and better way.
He shouldn't be on the roster for what he tweeted. Let alone taking part of the festivities.

How about you let queer people decide if this is a story or not?

I'm not sure you (or any of us) are qualified to deem this a non-story

It is a story but I think it's a positive one. Right now things are so black and white. If someone does something wrong against one of the groups, you're fired. I think the Jays are making a great move by saying they're giving people a chance to turn things around. This rarely happens. I think it's positive.

I see what you are saying. However, did you see his comments today?
he (paraphrasing) said he stands by his beliefs but just knows better not to state them publicly.
that sounds like someone who's sorry he got caught. not sorry he hurt people.

How about no. This is a societal question as much as anything.

He read a 30 second script with the sincerity of a hostage and met with an executive director from Pride Toronto. I guess that undoes the fact that he shared a video that called queer people satanic. He shouldn’t be celebrated at Pride. It’s a celebration of queer folks and queer athletes…not a transphobe who needs an image rehab.

Could be. But if he was truly truly against it he'd also refuse to be the starter. I guess we'll see the messaging around it but you know the Jays aren't saying he's a great person. They're just saying give him a chance as he hasn't done a 10/10 grievance here.
