To answer your question, Quinnipiac is the college hockey version of Jacques Lemaire’s New Jersey Devils. Peret’s is pretty good, but his numbers are enhanced by the system he plays in.

Peret’s was a finalist for top goalie in the NCAA, won by Devon Levi

Including playoff’s, Ryan McAllister has 6 pts in 5 games. You never know with late blooming college free agents, but maybe his numbers didn’t lie. Good start at least

Sam Malinski is another college free agent having early success in the AHL.
9 games played incl playoffs, 3 goals, 5 assists for a defensemen

Edit: just picked up another assist for his 9th point in in his 9th game

Another free agent invite. This one named to the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie team.

Played primarily d-man this season. Prokop is the first rookie defenseman in Union's Division I history to lead the team in scoring. Although he is old for a rookie in the NCAA at 22.

John Prokop is having a fantastic sophomore season. He leads his team is scoring and is 4th in the nation in pts/game by a defenseman, behind only Hutson, Casey and Buium. At the end of Dev Camp, Conroy mentioned there were invitees he was interested in signing. Definitely a player to keep an eye on

Plenty of opportunities on the blue line. I hope Conroy goes HAM on college (and major junior) free agents.

Interesting to look back and see what a crapshoot this is, especially with older guys.

From this article as the top prospects:

1)Jake Livinstone - just 5 NHL games, and nothing interesting at the AHL level yet.
2)Hunter McKown - 12 NHL games, and not even .5 PPG at AHL (although very close)
3)VIctor Ostman - went back to University of Maine, where he's had his worst season
4)Sam Malinski - decent stats in 23 NHL games and pretty good in 39 AHL games
5)Riese Gaber - went back to UND, but didn't really improve on previous season
6)Akita Hirose - 3 NHL games and only 25 in the AHL, where his results are pretty dismal
7)Ryan McAllister - only decent in the AHL
8)Austen Swankler - went to Michigan Tech, only 10 games and 3 assists
9)Parker Ford - decent stats in the AHL
10) Jaxon Nelson - went back to University of Minnesota; goals much improved
11)Jason Polin 7 NHL games, dismal stats in the AHL
12)Max Sasson - good AHL stats
13)TJ Hughes - went back to University of Michigan and looks to have improved
14)Collin Graf- back to Quinnipac and probably the most touted free agent this year
15)Jacob Bengtsson - went to Boston College, not lighting it up.

So no one in the NHL yet, and only a handful are actually doing okay or better at the AHL level - the most productive of the bunch right now is Max Sasson.
