If it makes you feel better, Tij is only 15 and not playing in the WHL for another 1-2 years.

Another notable (?) name picked in the first round -- Ryder Ritchie selected 14th overall by Prince Albert. He plays on the same team as Tij Iginla in Kelowna, and is the son of Byron Ritchie (who also happens to be the head coach of that team).

Yes. Iggy was in attendance at the recent Flames game against the Jets with the team he coaches because they were in town for a tournament at the Edge School.
BTW, it looks like Iggy is coaching his younger son's (Joe) U15 team. Tij's team is coached by Byron Ritchie.
Also, of note for the Iginla family, their oldest daughter, Jade, was recently invited to Team Canada's U18 Women's Camp. So, there's a good chance we haven't seen the last of someone named Iginla leading Canada to another Olympic gold medal.
