Also, the lane closures on the bridge on 17th Ave over Crowchild, have been removed and the bridge is back to 2 lanes in each direction.
Some of the other lane closures on 17th, going westbound from the bridge, have also been removed.

When I went from SB Sarcee to EB Glenmore on Saturday, there were still 60 signs as you went up onto the curved bridge. No other signs until you got to the end of the new jersey barrier where it becomes 80.

Latest update in the "Calgary planning department is a bunch of goofs" saga:
They've decided that the smartest time to fully close 1 Street SW (beginning a week or so ago) between 7/6 Aves is for 3 months is when they also have: 2 ST SW down to one lane, Centre ST down to one lane due to bus stops, and 10 ST fully closed.
Whatever group is responsible for this coordination must be literally braindead I swear. They're all going as zombies for Halloween I'd assume. Who needs northbound access in the core tho, amirite?

Yep, that's still there. Super annoying and pointless.

Maybe an odd or stupid question but does anyone know why the city removed the middle set of traffic lights along the western portion of 5th Ave downtown? I don't drive downtown a lot but today I noticed that they only had two sets of lights overhead at the intersections instead of three and the middle ones had been removed.
Also the construction around my office is insane right now. Lane closures on 5th Ave East of 4th Street and closures on 2nd Street from Eau Claire to 5th Ave and along 3rd Ave. It is brutal trying to get around downtown.

My street has been plowed no less than 8 times since the last snowfall. And that’s just what I see. Few belly plows, couple front plows, the giant ass grader that makes blocks you in, and now again two belly plows. K, like, move along now please.

I never thought I'd see someone in Calgary complaining about the streets being plowed too often.

That's what my mom used to say the city's snow removal policy was: "Let the guy who put it there get rid of it. That's why God made Chinooks."

These are Provincial projects I believe but fall within the City of Calgary so close enough.
Significant construction on Deerfoot for the next few years.
construction on the north improvements has started this week, will finish in 2025.
Contracts for the south projects (pretty major projects) awarded to AECON with finish dates of 2027 (I'm guessing these won't start this year)?

This was the closest thread I could find — is it me or has morning traffic into downtown been a complete clusterfata lately? I recall a couple of weeks ago when they shut down Macleod Trail (due to a stabbing by City Hall) it was a nightmare trying to drive in. Well, yesterday and this morning it has been a total crawl once you get close to downtown (I come in from the North). I’m assuming it’s a combination of construction closures and increased vehicles. I don’t remember it being this bad even before the pandemic.

There is a lot of Green Line construction and Enmax rebuilding a substation on 9th Ave that hasn't helped anything.
So yes, it sucks getting into downtown.

Getting into DT isn't too bad (I come in around 7) but traffic has gotten considerably worse in the afternoon heading out to the west.

Does anyone know what is causing some of the huge heaves in the concrete curb sections along some roads? I would assume it is related to frost heaves although the one that I have seen recently probably popped up this summer at some point. There are two that I see regularly around my area. The recent one is along northbound Shaganappi just before the pedestrian overpass to Market Mall from Varsity and the other one is along southbound Crowchild beside the University right in front of the UofC billboard. They are large, maybe 12 to 18 inch, perfectly triangular heaves in the concrete but they don't extend at all into the roadway surface.
