I would like to attend but can't stop thinking that some Oiler fan will try to spit in my mouth and for those reasons I'm out. Plus like I said earlier, Commonwealth is an absolute ####hole in a ####hole neighborhood. I hope to of hurt some feelings.

I would never pay money to see something like that. I don't get it. What a dump.

Different facility obviously (Sharks vs LA at Levi's), but can they not at least try and fill in the area around the rink?

fwiw that's more what I expect now. The first one wasn't quite the league event that it's become now.

Just saw these mockups for the Heritage Classic Jerseys. The Oilers is obviously no good, but the Flames with the off white colour looks real nice. Nice touches on the inside collar for both teams paying tribute to the first battle of Alberta game held between the Calgary Fire Brigade and the Edmonton Thistles in 1895.

Yikes, Commonwealth is just awful for a hockey game. Football stadiums are already not great for watching hockey, but they have an extra massive running track around the outside, making things way worse.
Like just look at those fans, you're a hundred miles away and couldn't possibly have any sort read on the game other than seeing players batting a puck around in the distance.

Sweet sky daddy those are over the top. That same money would buy a pretty amazing night out on the town.
For under the cost of just two tickets, I bet I could take my wife out to a top restaurant, then watch the game at a place with big screen and people waiting on me, and stay at a hotel for some end of the night fun.

Always made me wonder why they made big stadiums with running tracks back in the day.
Who the #### goes to watch track events? You got big crowds for football, why not build football specific stadiums. So stupid.

That particular stadium was built for the Commonwealth Games in 1978, so it needed a track.

Related to the stadium these two never get old, from the 2001 World Track Championships...first the article that sets off a firestorm in Edmonton for cutting down the sacred city of champions label, followed up by the tounge in cheek apology that the mouth breathers demanded.

Fill it with what though?
You can't have seats there because they would be at ice level all the way back until you get to the actual stadium seats.

Sorry for the bump but, any speculation about when we'll be getting the jerseys released. Training camp?
