Yeah Shaw dropped a lot of points there but made it up in event 2.

Still right now Hooper has won both events and has a 4.5 point lead over Oleksi and 6 point lead over Tom.

Looking like a bit of a 2 horse race going into the final day. Hooper 1st with 25 pts, Novikov 2nd with 25.5. 3rd place is Trey 22.5.

Edit: Tom has 24 pts as well but are showing him in 4th on the website for some reason (on mobile anyways). Man its so tough to follow without a stream.

3 horse race i guess.

Hooper tied for 1st in the Max dumbell and scored 9.5. With two events left hes still 1st overall. And two events that he should score well at (bus pull and atlas stones)

Hooper (Canada) 34.5 pts
Novikov (Ukraine) 31 pts
T Stoltman (Britain/Scotland) 30.5 pts

Tom is best in the world in stones. Hooper is fine there but there are others like Shaw and Trey and Evan that could come between them. I think if Hooper is going to win this thing he needs to not lose any points to Tom on the truck pull. If he’s four points ahead going in to stones he should win. If he’s only two ahead then I don’t see how he can hold Tom off. Getting five points in Fingals really hurt (especially since he was 1-2 seconds from getting 7-8 points).

Looks like Hooper won the bus pull so hes 5 pts up on Stoltman going into the atlas stones. He should be able to pull it off for the win.

Ok Hooper beat Tom in the pull (just by one but that’s enough) I think with a five point lead going into stones and one withdrawal already he should be good to win this. He just needs to finish in fifth. Since this is stones you’re not going to get any ties so he just needs to bear four people. Ragg, Oleksi, Luke (although he’s good) Pablo should all be beatable.

Actually Evan tied Tom on bus pull which is hilarious. I suppose ties on stones are possible. But with that the lead is 5.5 and Hooper just needs to finish in sixth place if Tom wins. Hard to see Hooper not beating three people.

Shaw wins his final competition taking home the Shaw classic against a stacked lineup. He really performed this weekend edging out Hooper and Tom.

He probably regrets that stupid bag that fell off the podium in the water back in 10/11 or whenever that was. Likely cost him a fifth title.

Shaw got the rights to the title "Strongest Man on Earth" for the winner of the Shaw Classic moving forward too. I wonder how WSM feels about that.

Mitch Hooper is just an absolute phenom at this sport. He's only been on the scene a couple of years.
Current World's Strongest Man
Current and 2x Arnold's Champion
Current Rogue Champion
2nd place in the Shaw Classic

This weekend's Arnold's Streams are up here.

Just a stacked lineup with the return of Thor and Licis, Hooper destroyed the competition. 5 reps on the Apollon's Wheels I think puts him up there with Big Z who was the greatest overhead presser ever.

Can he win his 2nd WSM coming up? wouldn't bet against him.

Other than shaws comp I think he takes the other big shows. WSM and Rogue I’d put him as the favorite.

He's only 28 and he's already the greatest Canadian Strongman ever.

With Brian retired now I could see Hooper winning that comp also, he finished 2nd last time. The crazy thing to me is the margin of victory at the Arnolds, that was just insane.

By a lot. The nearest is probably Hugo Girard I think but constant injuries killed his career.

He took the Arnold’s UK last weekend too although it was closer. Partly that was good events for Thor and lack of a good field putting any people between the two. Like Mitch might have lost a point on throw or deadlift but would have gained points on the pressing events.
