Don’t think it’s about “Playing Games” and it’s not even about how many games Markstrom is going to start.
Last thing you want right now is to have to throw Markstrom cold into a game that Vladar starts if for whatever reason you need to pull Vladar and then have Markstrom tweak something because he went into a game cold.
My guess is Markstrom will start 2 of the remaining games, Vladar will start the other 2 and Wolf will be the back up for the two Vladar starts so that Markstrom has the nights fully off.

Wolf's last game in Stockton was a 41-save performance in a 3-1 win over Tucson on Wednesday.
I think he might win AHL MVP. That's how good he's been this season.
He's outstanding. Genuinely fabulous player.

Is it possible that one of the current goalies on the roster are not 100%? I mean, of course anything is possible, but is there any reason to think that might be the case?

I doubt it. I think they're just rewarding him for a good season by bringing him up to end the regular season like they did Gillies in 2017 who got to play the second last game of the season against LA.

Good point. But of the two goalies we have going, I’d say Vladar is fresh (and healthy) and Markstrom is a bit fatigued (but healthy).

Btw — Heat are all but guaranteed to lock up the No. 1 spot in the AHL Pacific Division, which means they'll get a bye to the second round of the playoffs. They need just one more point in their last three games to lock it up, and that's only if Ontario wins out.
Heat are gonna be off for a while — probably until the middle of May. Wolf coming up makes a ton of sense in that regard ... get some reps in practice, get a raise as a reward for an outstanding season, hang out with Markstrom/Vladar, get to know Darryl/the coaching staff, maybe make his NHL debut.

My guess is Vladar will get the starts against Vancouver and Minnesota, Markstrom will start in Nashville, and Wolf will play in Winnipeg.
