I thought it was shaping up to be the best show I had ever seen but it went to #### really quickly, to the point where I never even finished it because I knew it would be a waste of time. Too much trying to get the best ratings each episode, and sacrificing the long-term story arcs. Plus they started to bring in recycled TV actors which always sucks
I thought season 1 of Lost was the best season of any show, period.

Yep, peak one was the peak for me as well. Although, I quite like season two as well on a second look. Even the third season was very good (Desmond added a great dimension to the show in the latter seasons), but it pretty much went downhill after that.
But in season one there were just so many great episodes, including Walkabout which might be the best episode I have ever seen in any show. Then they ended it so perfectly with one of the better twists ever in Walt being taken instead of Aaron. To this day it still pisses me off that they pretty much wrote Walt off after that happened. I don't know who is at fault for screwing that up, whether it's the writers, Walt's growth, or Harold Perrineau's decision to leave the show, but I don't think the show was ever the same after that amazing twist never played out.
