Been so many years. Just a name that popped into my mind. Anyway.

It’s quite interesting to hear about these guys outside of tv. They seem to be normal individuals. But their journalistic integrity is terrible. Sensationalizing stuff for the sake of ratings has been what all these networks have been doing for over 20 years now. I don’t for seeing it changing anytime soon with the polarizing of parties more and more. Each broadcaster is just playing to their less than educated audience.

Most of American media and the cable news battles are just such garbage overall, it's not even funny. No wonder America is in such bad shape. If you want to watch a quality, informative and straight down the middle piece, watch PBS Newshour. No ads for anything, so you get to skip the medical ads about all the side effects! They do an excellent job of reporting on issues in very in-depth pieces and they have people on the panel that are rationale, pragmatic and not arguing all the time.

It's a completely different world than the garbage that people watch at CNN, MSNBC, Fox etc. The cable news channels do have their moments but in recent years have become insufferable

CNN kind of pioneered the whole idea of creating the news rather than just reporting on it. It's all about ratings and creating revenue for the network. Fox took it up to another level, but you're right that most of the content is trash regardless of network. I still find some value in it some times. For example, CNN's budget allows their correspondents to get higher levels of access, but with all these big networks, you have to try to keep in mind what their angle is.

Having access to news 24 hours is nice, but it also means that there is going to be a lot of filler and sensationalism to drum up interest.

I could see Elon Musk giving Carlson a Twitter content creation deal, given TFG is tied to Truth Social.

Reports are he signed an 8yr $260m deal 2 years ago plus $6m per on the fox podcast, that's a lot of cake, I wonder what kind of payout he accepted.

In other news the cop who fired the fatal shot in Breonna Taylor’s murder has been rehired a county or two over. Good work if you can get it

Carlson is now free to pursue his lifelong dream of starting a chain of testicle tanning studios.

I think this one is a little more grey.

The main crime in this case was the illegal warrant that was created. My understanding is that this officer did not have a part in creating the warrant.

He was fired for violating use of force procedures for returning fire without seeing the target and for not turning on his body camera. Which is different then firing first or at an unarmed person. Should he be a cop? Probably not but there is more room for people to argue he should be.

meh... depends on who takes over I suppose. Bill O'Reilly was also forced out of Fox and Carlson took propaganda to the next level.

I can't see Fox losing those sweet, sweet ratings they worked hard to cultivate by appealing to the mouth breathers... Hell, the entire Dominion lawsuit came about due to Fox trying to placate viewers upset with them calling the AZ election for Biden "early".

Tucker might get a new spot on OAN, Newmax or some other corporation whose only concern is to get ratings...but those with half a brain can see he's a liar and sycophant - he loathes Trump. And Trump's true cultists will recognize that.

Fox is at a fork in the road: do they moderate and start to report actual news (with facts) potentially eroding their base to even more extreme networks or do they double down with liars?

Fox? "Report actual news" vs. "double down with liars"? I think we all know the answer to that one.

But would they?

CNN interviewed 4 Fox News watchers. Showed them that Fox paid out Dominion and what came out in discovery. Then asked "Would you still watch Fox News?" They all said "Yes".

I wouldn't be surprised if Murdock looked over the facts, figures and sponsors and said "People don't watch Fox News because of Tucker, they watch Tucker because of Fox News"

I think the base is for the brand and not what the brand is selling.

Writing was on the wall when his best bud Chris Cuomo was fired.
