They've been snowmaking for a little while now.

The Lake Louise Ski Resort Haha, it's legit Sean. Mother Nature brought the goods over the weekend across the whole resort and we're firing our snow cannons on all cylinders too. Things are looking great.

Beautiful opening day at Louise. Soft groomers, mostly sunny skies, good for breaking in new boots and testing the knee. Not crowded either; started at 930 and got in ten wiwaxy laps by 1. Good times. Anyone else up here?

What you would expect from November. The WROD is in good shape, there are shallow stashes off the sides that were basically exhausted by lunch, and that's it. Warm up laps.

I would KILL for this to come to Calgary.

Right now the only way to practice something like a flip or any thing crazy (for a ##### like me) is to wait for a massive dump and build a booter.

What's my best bet for decent conditions around Fairmont Hot Springs in the next two weeks? Obviously the closer to the Hot Springs the better, might have to go there for a work meeting.

Sunshine opens this Friday. It's the closest real hill to Banff. There's also Norquay that's pretty much in banff but it's a small hill.

All of the Banff resorts seem to be getting pretty good early snow.

He said Fairmont Hot Springs, though which is by Invermere. It'd be hours to any of those places... I don't think any of the resorts near there are open until December.

Ooops I took that as the fairmont banff springs. My bad.

Panorama opens Dec 11th and Kimberly opens Dec 12th.

I don't think there any other hills around there.

Nakiska had one decent run (Mapmaker) open on the Gold Chair on the 11th. It was crunchy, but better after lunch.

You had to ride the Olympic Chair to get down.

The BC ones always open later. You might get lucky, the last few years Kicking Horse has done a "bonus weekend" the week before opening when they get enough snow (it's a solid hour from fairmont but I've done it as a day trip from there lots). That still puts you into December though.

Wow I'm amazed they even opened. Went hiking out there last weekend and could see more grass than snow!
