Have you tried the new flower point chair lift? Pretty fun through there

Not record amounts but they've got snow.

Looking at mid-end of Feb.

Update

Had to hike to earn turns at Fernie. Did a bunch of laps of Fish Bowl over the weekend.

Whitefish was fantastic. Trees were a little skied out, however it was dead at the hill (holiday hangover they call it). It was mid to high 20's all weekend with light snow up on the Big Mountain. Plus they were blowing snow constantly. The fog seemed to hang around the middle of the hill, but only lasted for a few turns before you made your way below it.

I did not see bars taking Canadian at par or if they did it it was quietly. All in all I love that place and will one day make it my winter home...dare to dream

Bull Dog takes the Canadian dollar at par for drinks.

I found this that may be of interest to you. Have fun, I had two buddies go last year. They didn't do any touring and stayed mostly inbounds. The locals for some reason don't ski in the trees so there's unlimited fresh lines/pow for days!

I was at Revy for the past 3 days and the conditions were fantastic. We had excellent powder in the two bowls and even the snow at the base was great.

I can barely walk today but it was worth it.

Thought I'd post this in here since it was a good read.

"Unless you know where to look, there’s little evidence of a once-bustling ski industry outside the Big Three at Banff. Where families clad in one-piece nylon suits once shushed down runs at Wintergreen, Turner Valley and Pigeon Mountain, hikers now benefit from the grassy slopes left in their wake. Most of the ski lifts, left abandoned and rusting for years, have been sold off and removed."

"Skiing got its start in Alberta about 1911 but it really took off in the 1940s and ’50s after the war years. Ski hills sprouted up in prairie gullies and ravines across the province with volunteers clearing brush and raising funds. The facilities were basic, but they introduced an entire generation to the sport. Over time, as money and snow disappeared, so did many of the little operations. Skiers moved on to bigger elevations at Banff and Kananaskis but for some longtime Calgarians, fond memories remain of the hills where many of us learned to ski."

I barely remember Wintergreen.

And lol at Norquay including itself with Sunshine and Louise.

I had lots of good times at Norquay as a kid. Parents would have to work, so we would get dropped off for the day there.

Fortress was epic in University becuase we were poor, and living in rez you could always find people to go on a big pow day, even if it meant missing a few classes. Totally worth it.

The Fortress $100 uni student season pass was one of the best ski years of my life. I was just about to write my calculus final when a buddy texted me to go out because they got dumped on. Went in, wrote my name on the exam, handed it in, walked out, and skied in waist deep all day.

I honestly don't even bother with any of those mountains anymore (lake Louise, Sunshine, Norquay).

Weekend trip to Revy, Kickinghorse, Fernie, or such. Or just tour a couple days.

Castle still hanging in there, need to get over the next week and then it looks colder with lots of snow in the forecast. Pretty fun spring skiing there right now, you can hail ass down the chutes.
