I just started season 2. It took a while for me to get into it but I'm enjoying it now.

I’m being a little snarky in hindsight. Season 2 is Henry Rollins right? That’s legitimately good. After that though it devolved and a few seasons in there is a specific moment where it turns terrible and the final season is up there with Dexter for killing your own legacy with trash. Kurt Sutter started feeling himself a bit too much.

There are worse things to watch and if you enjoy watching those characters it’s worth sticking with. I’d vote you just watch The Shield from the start instead.

Sons of Anarchy was a guilty pleasure for us. I enjoyed following the characters arcs, storylines, and while it's a it's core a show about the stereotypical biker gang life it at times gets deep enough to tackle racism and sexism. I didn't think the final season was Dexter bad as to me it was more like Breaking Bad (I'm one of those people that believe the final season is a clear step down) where it's hard to wrap things up neatly when everyone knows the end is coming.

I have an interest in biker culture so, while I realize the show is hardly accurate, it scratches that itch.

I never really like The Shield. Tried it a few times and it never grabbed me.

I thought Sons of Anarchy was a mess personally, whatever the season it is that they go to Ireland was a steep dive that just kind of continued.

I also never got into The Shield and tried several times. I think it's because some people kept saying how it was better than The Wire which, to be fair to The Shield, I think immediately put me into an antagonistic "oh really?" mode. After watching 5 masterful seasons of systemic dysfunction and the death of an American city wrapped in tragedy, a show about some rogue cops felt kind of kitschy. Like it would have been super edgy had the Sopranos and The Wire never happened, but it had been passed by by better shows.

Speaking of guilty pleasures... Hannibal.

Knowing it was on a major US network, I had low expectations. I also admit that it took me a while to suspend my disbelief enough to really immerse myself in the Baltimore-filled-with-serial-killers world the show creates. I also often have to look away from the incredible amounts of gore.

However, all that said, it really has become a guilty pleasure. Something to be savoured with fava beans and a nice Chianti...

That season was terrible but I thought it picked back up again after

I enjoyed the show as a whole but it was definitely one you couldn't take too seriously. It was dumb fun and I loved it

My wife and I are re-watching.

Thinking of picking this up:

You have to, uh, supply your own meat.

Halfway thru S3 of Mr. Robot. Pretty good show. S2 was kind of boring but finally picked up again, although the relationship between Elliott and Mr. R is kind of getting...weird. Ah well, still enjoying watching it. BD Wong has been great too.

Watched both seasons of Trailer Park Boys animated series. I wasn't that warm to it to start, but it's gotten pretty funny. Good if you're a fan of the boys.

I also have some time tonight to start Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet with Rob Mcelhenney. Looks pretty funny as I need a good comedy to get into.

My wife and I are through a couple seasons of Catastrophe on Prime. It's pretty great. Lots of raunchy humour but the cast are really endearing. 4 seasons, 6 <30 min episodes each so it's a quick watch.

I have watched the first two seasons of Mr. Robot. Enjoying it a lot so far, though it is on the slower side.

Also, finallly started Man In a High Castle. A few episodes in, and I am hooked.

Not to get too spoiler-y, but there's an incident in the final season that would normally result in national media attention and likely high FBI scrutiny, and by the next episode it was like nothing happened. It's a dumb, dumb show, but sort of fun the first couple seasons. But if you last to the end you'll be hate watching as most of us were.

I feel like an idiot. Had absolutely no idea that Hannibal was already discussed on the previous page (with most of my comments already made as well). I'm an idiot.
