Well, that origin story sounds like a total disaster waiting to happen.
As if they haven't tried that 1000000000000 x and each time made it worse.
I am ok with another reboot crew movie I guess. I didn't find the last two to be particularly noteworthy or special. Same level as Nemesis IMO. Not horrible flicks but not really trek. The first one was actually pretty good if you can get over them wiping away the universe we all loved. But a good movie with a good track and some nice star trek notes.

I'd take a McFarlane trek.
But the right thing to do at this point is to give McMahan the keys. It is injurious that this isnt happening.

McMahan-Myers team. Retire Goldsmith. No more Abrams or Abrams related stuff touching it at all.

I think theres just so much potential. Make a couple more seasons of SNW and then transition them to a couple movies?
Make an animated Star Trek movie with the Lower Deckers?
Find some way for Discovery to Warp or Jump or Spore or whatever the hell it is that they do into a film but right in the path of a thousand photon torpedos and we just call that 'Problem Solved.'
Get Boimler assimilated by the Borg and then they all become nice and helpful and they assimilate those clowns on that planet with some pretty stiff regulations surrounding gardening.
And then the Borg become a race of Groundskeepers.

Abrams needs to be stuffed into a Photon Torpedo and fired into the Sun.

Because of the writing or because Abraham Lincoln was killing vampires?

I mean...I'd be on board. I'm not sure he'd agree to it.
Could you imagine if he re-made TMP with today's technology and his style?

SNW goes for 6-7 seasons and then gets a movie... Villeneuve would be potentially perfect for that.

He does really well with established source material and revisioning, so I don't hate TMP as a basis for him, but I think we could get a more exciting story.

Started re-watching TNG, which I've done several times. Even seasons 1 and 2. Season 1 truly is terrible, but I like to watch it because so many seeds were planted for later seaons like Q, Worf's journey, Crusher/Picard. Also so many terrible ideas (malfunctioning holodecks, terrible admirals, Wesley saving the day).
I realize most fans don't share the opinion, but I absolutely love "Conspiracy." When i was a kid that episode was so fascinating, and I realize it doesn't really fit the show, but I still love it.
Also, in the first holodeck episode, Picard brings the Enterprise's "FIction Expert" onto the holodeck. I guess when you don't get paid, you can get any job you want...

Yeah, it kind of reminds me of that part of 'Office Space' where, 'what would you do if you had a million dollars?'
That kind of thing, if money didnt matter what would you do? And I think they vastly over-estimate humanity's Goodwill and desire for exploration.
I'd probably do something useless too.

really? I just assumed everyone else thought Conspiracy rocked too. There's just not enough examples of what full power phasers do to human (or alien) flesh in any of the series.

I've never heard anyone complain about Conspiracy, other than why did they never revisit that storyline.

Why do they always drop 1 random F-bomb in every episode of Picard. Seems hilariously out of place
