Every year it evolves from something innocent into full-on OCD. We'll see what tonight brings.

Naked Grouse. It was recommended somewhere here, and I was pleasantly surprised for a ~$45 bottle.

Keeping it light this year, just the essentials.

I have two bags of grass, 75 pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls.

Looking forward to the videos.

Certain jerseys depending on the games.

Red Retro Gio for tonight because it's the team standard now.
Red Pedestal Theo when I'm at the dome for a must win.
Red Gelinas with the 04 patch only for elimination games.

The rest of the collection has to stay home and wait until next year.

But today my truck is stocked with the essentials depending on what feels right.
Gio Retro Jersey
Pedestal Theo Jersey
Retro scarf
Regular red scarf
Red Flames touque
Flames hat
Flames retro slicker
Flames hoodie jersey with black C
White retro hoodie jersey

There's a winning combination in there somewhere....

I used to have a beer stein of Red strawberry Kool-Aid during each period during the '04 Playoff run. I couldn't take a sip until 0:34 had been played and I had to finish my last sip with 0:12 left.

They lost game 6 in the SCF because I didn't watch from home and I didn't bring my Kool-Aid mix with me. It was all my fault.

I tried to do it in 2006 and 2007 and kinda just forgot about doing it after that. Then I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and all Kool-Aid was out the window!

In 2015 I drank two bottles of Rickard's Red each game, because, well... Red!

In 2017 I don't think I followed any habits or superstitions. The superstitions seem to go away as I age. Now, my traditions will just be something small to do after each victory. Such as drinking a can of Calgary Flames branded beer after each victory, which I mentioned in a previous post.

My bad habit is that I allow the Flames success (or lack of) completely dictate my mood during the day. My wife loves playoff time.

In another thread, I mentioned that the last time my dog got a grooming, the Flames lost. Hubby dropped off my dog last night to get groomed this morning and when I found out I went to the groomer's to pick up my dog, and they waited for me after they closed- because I didn't want to jinx the playoffs.

Also, none of my social media cover photos or profile pictures can be changed.

When I see that someone changes their CP avatar for the playoffs it makes me nauseous because I think that's bad luck.

Whenever the Flames play (playoffs or not), I have to be holding/touching/sitting beside/in the same room with my younger brother's ancient Fleury jersey that I've kept since 1991 for some reason.

If anyone in my house says the 'S' word during the game I go into a full meltdown.

If the Flames lose, I am genuinely in a foul mood the next day and I believe that if I had done something different, they would have won. For example, every time I fall asleep early, it seems like the Flames lose. So I feel like if I had just stayed awake, the Flames would have won.

I feel like a whack job, but I don't care. It's only stupid if it doesn't work.

I wear a jersey until they lose then switch it up.

I don't trash talk about the other team on gamedays.

Only watch on one TV and switch if they lose.

Every single game I went to in the 2004 run (Game 3 Van, Game 3 Detroit, 3 & 4 San Jose, and Game 6 Finals) they lost, so I'm doing you all a solid and living in Berlin and not going to any games.

Mine first off is also all about which jersey I wear. They lose, put that one away.

If they win tonight I will try to do a lot of the same things I did today. If they lose, it'll be avoiding things I did today.

Seriously always something strange happens that I need to keep doing, I know its irrational but I cannot help it. I feel like I have some small part helping them win or lose. Yeah, that's right, the universe is a strange place. Do not anger the Hockey Gods.

I would wear the same red pair of underwear and same red pair of socks and I won't change out of them or take a shower until the Flames win the cup or eliminated.....but my wife won't let me!

So I have no playoffs routine....

On the day of a game I never drive through a parking space to face out on the other side. Even if there is nothing in front of me, I'll back out. I noticed a pattern when I drove through, the Flames lost. Mind you that was the GG years.

Ok I’ve been thinking about this for like an hour. Is this part true? I mean it honestly and respectfully but I have to ask.

It reads like a comedy bit to me and I laughed but then thought wait maybe it’s true and so not funny. Again. Sorry If this is the case that really sucks.

During the 04 run we used to pass around an acoustic guitar and give it a tap before every game. Still doing it to this day!
