Kylington isn't NHL ready. Guy still makes horrific turnovers and decisions. He still needs to add strength as well. NHL coaches won't be trusting him anytime soon imo. He's still probably a couple years away.

Valimaki has some edge to his game. Just what you like in a 2-way d-man.

Interesting to see they're lining him up on RW. Could be a good spot for him to stay at.

The Gio comparison sound pretty apt to me. How sweet would it be to have a clone of Gio here to replace Gio in a few years.

Today was the final day of split squad games for Canada and the USA.

Canada Red vs USA White
USA won 8-2 in a blowout. Maybe not surprising it was a blowout when both goalies for Canada Red are Edmonton Oilers prospects

Phillips 0pts 2SOG -1
Dube 0pts 2SOG 2PIM -2

Canada White vs USA Blue
More respectable score for the Canadians. 2-1 Canada over USA

Fox 0pts 5SOG -1

Starting tomorrow TSN will start showing the remaining days of the showcase

Believe 11AM is Canada vs Finland and 2pm is USA vs Sweden

The US has a better system for putting a team together with their taking the best players and forming a team with them for the season. They also seem to be teaching skill as the first requirement. As hockey becomes more popular south of the border they're getting to be a handful for us.

I'm digging the fact that TSN has been talking most about Dube, Phillips and Valimaki more than any other players in this game since I tuned in.

Nice neutral zone play by Dube to push the puck up the ice to Ang, then nice backhand sauce by Dube to Raddysh for the snipe. @2:50!leftbin the first to take the lead.

Valimaki jumping into the play with a nice chance in the slot. Was compared to Gio after that play and (is the commentator Chris Lee?) says the Flames must be doing cartwheels after drafting Valimaki.
