Honest question - is the UCP more right-leaning than the previous PC party? If so, is that by virtue of policy or by party membership? I'm guessing yes, because of big tent party objectives for the right, but I'm interested to hear other folks thoughts on this.

To your two questions:
1. Yes, significantly more right-leaning.
2. Both.

You have to define "previous PC party". The PCs at the end under Prentice and Redford? Yes, they very much are. The early Stelmach PCs before the Wildrose split off? Probably not all that much.

I heard the UCP want to revert the changed banked OT from 1.5 hours off back to 1:1.

Don't like them already.

The real irony here is that the demographic whom a change like that negatively impacts also likely happen to be the same demographic that overwhelmingly supported the UCP.

I'm a professional and I'm management so I don't get overtime either way, but I oppose rescinding the policy as well.

I am not sure if this is a policy to be implemented by Kenney, but if true, I would honor the original banked OT at 1.5. It's the honorable thing to do for human decency if that was agreed upon prior.

Who knows if he'll actually do it, but his response was pretty tone-deaf when asked.

Are you surprised? I'm not. He's a career politician - guy knows how to give non-answers and avoid contentious topics. This is his bread and butter. Returning to the exact same rules as before (his quote in the article) is exactly what he's doing with the School Act, returning to pre-NDP legislation from an ideological standpoint. More evidence it's not just about jobs, economy, and pipelines.

Why would anyone ever agree to work overtime in this situation?

EDIT: Nevermind. I misunderstood.
