Someone needs to paste Tkachuk's face onto Jobu (cigar replaced by mouthguard).

I will never do the birthday thing because I'm in July, but if I did it would always be a coach's nightmare these days.

Living on the East Coast and following a Western Conference team I know I'm going to have some late nights, but I'll never understand why the start time for the California teams is always 7:30 local when for the most part none of the East Coast teams do that.

Go Flames Go - Let's build on that lead on the Ducks in the division tonight, there a team that seems to always start slow and build momentum over the rest of the season so we need to get these 2 points tonight!

I hate the Ducks! Sure would be nice to get two points tonight so the Flames could put some distance between these two teams before the Ducks make their annual 2nd half of the season surge.

Yup. The Flames have a chance to separate themselves from ANA and LA on this trip. As a Flames' fan, it feels like:

1) rarely do they get that chance, and
2) even more rarely do they take advantage of it

But I am feeling fairly confident that they are going to actually have a successful trip (I should know better)

I like the signs going in - Anaheim has been terrible, but isn't in a long losing streak that could end. They've lost to teams that aren't very good - Chicago, LA, NYR, They played last night and the Flames are rested.

No Perry, no Manson. No Kase or Ritchie. Getzlaf and Kesler might still be hurting.

Miller has been good, but each start has been a little worse, and he's lost his last two (not really his fault, but when you face 44 and 36 shots, it's a tough time).

^ He isn't around anymore (it would seem) but a younger version of him has shown up. I don't have a gif of the new guy. Thankfully.

Ripe game for Calgary to be Anaheim's slump busters. Hope I'm wrong but I'm not feeling too confident going into this game.

Stupid house of horrors.

They won only two games ago, so the are only on a one game losing streak. We are at the beginning of a new slump.

I think if the Flames come prepared and get a few quick goals in the first period, then this game will be easy. More killer instinct in the first and second periods is required as players need to put it in the back of the net.

Also need to really focus on Getzlaf and Rakell. They both always seem to burn the Flames.

The Flames have had such a strange schedule this year with two here, two gone, two here ... they really haven't had that much practice time since the season got going.

Hoping their already improved defensive play gets reinforced, and they see a boost in powerplay results by not having any games between Saturday and Wednesday.
