Holy crap, outshot 41-20 and win it 3-2.
Nice to see that Parsons is feeling no ill effects from whatever it was that kept him out of the lineup for 2 months.

Here is a quote from Kyle Capobianco, Tucson’s leading scorer, on Parsons’ performance last night.
“That was a good goalie. He caught some fire. He was feeling good and we just couldn’t put it past him,” Capobianco said.

That's three stellar games from Parsons after a couple of stinkers to start the year.
5 GP 3.38 GAA and .896 sv%. His last 3 starts he has allowed 2 or less goals and sv% of .929, .969 and .921. He's definitely trending in the right direction after a long injury layoff.

Adam Ollas Mattson seems to be having a pretty good year in Stockton. 9 points in 30 games and a +11 on a pretty bad team.
I wouldn't be suprised to see an NHL contract offered to him by someone.

I was surprised they didn't give him an NHL deal to begin with. Now they risk any team signing him. Maybe he will prefer to sign with a team that doesn't have so many good young defensemen ahead of him for next season.

Prior to this season he hadn't done enough to warrant anything more than an AHL deal. He's having a decent season and showing progression but not quite breaking into the top 6 of any contending roster quite yet. We'll see how it plays out.

Hopefully Parsons lights it up the rest of the year in the AHL while Rittich has continued success in the NHL. Would be nice if the Flames don't have to spend big assets or cap space on goaltending in the off season.

He doesn't need to be ready for the NHL in order to get a 2-way NHL entry deal. You give him the deal in order to retain his rights. Right now he isn't a Flames prospect, he's an NHL prospect.

I'd imagine Parsons is at least 1-2 full seasons away from being a nhl regular backup goalie, regardless of how the rest of this season plays out.

That really would be fantastic. Even if he needed a little more time it would be great to have a blue chipper in the wings.

We don't want him to emerge too quickly or Seattle will grab him.

Heat end up losing 6-5. Lomberg from Quine was the last goal.
Gillies makes 13 saves on 13 shots in relief of Parsons.

Have been following Matty’s game for a long time and just love to see he’s adjusting well to the pro game. After being held pointless and sporting a -6 in his first 8 games this season he’s gone on to put up 19 points and a +5 over the last 21 games including the burst of offense sureLoss eluded to. Super happy for Matty and if he keeps this up his life long dream of suiting up for a regular season Flames game will come true. He’s got big game potential imo.

Agreed, it would appear a lot of fans here on CP like Phillips, he finished 10th in the annual prospect poll.
A spot on Calgary's right wing will soon be up for grabs.

My boy
Kids got talent, miss watching him in Victoria. Not at all surprised that after an adjustment period he’s figuring out how to play in the AHL. Very high hockey IQ on this one.

At some point I wouldnt mind seeing what Lazar could do under Peters. At this point its safe to say he tops out as a bottom 6er but hopefully he keeps earning it and gets a callup.
