#13's time has come. It is the last chance to trade him and get some valuable asset in return. We need some speedy and gritty forwards to supplement our first/second line. That should include #5

If Gallant can get the effort level out of all four lines that he extracted from Vegas then we'll be in better shape.

He's the guy I would go with.

Cant believe they gave up 5 to a team coming off 9 losses. Its embarrassing.

I think roster changes need to be made as well, but how many players have fallen off of the face of the earth with this staff?

I do think there's something to be said for bringing in a head coach with some "pedigree" that will hold the players immediate attention vs having to "buy in" to a new guy on the scene.

I think bringing Laviolette in would be a good idea personally.

Worth noting that he was the HC of Johnny's favourite team while he was a teenager. Not that you bring in a new HC for one guy, but it could have an interesting affect.

You could probably get two roster players for Johnny that would contribute five times as much each over what he's provided the team with on this road trip.

Unfortunately that would qualify as a knee jerk move also.

You still want to get the best coach possible. Regardless of the team in front of him.

And whoever doesn't want to play for Gallant, time for a trade.

Really? you can't believe it? This team has shown all year that they don't come out to play, when they don't want to. As much as i wanted them to win , i was not one bit surprised they lost the way they did.

It is embarrassing, but I dont know how how that could possibly be on the coach.

Crosby also brings the best out of others besides his own talents. Thats why you hear a lot when they survey gm's which one would you rather have the majority take Sid. McDavid still needs to understand 1 or 2 superstars wont get you far.

The answer is that, every off-season Crosby identifies a weakness in his game and spends months working, making that weakness a strength.

Monahan is one of the few established players on the team willing to build his skillset. Having a better handle on the defensive side will help immensely in a playoff run, and a lot of respect is given to Monahan for stepping forward so that the Colorado debacle doesn't happen again, if he can help it.

That's the thing. Not one bit surprised. In fact, completely predictable.

What a classic loser team road trip. 2 games lost to bottom feeder teams and lucked into a win where their goalie the only reason they get points.

Super excited for the core to come back hungover from the break.

Please dump assets and don't invest further in this core. They ain't winning jack.

It's not on the coach.

But... Ward is quiet and easy going. And this team has shown that they will take advantage.

Not on the coach. But the coach didn't help either.

Don't get me wrong i would love for the flames to get Gallant. IMO there needs to be big changes to the roster in the off season. I'm also not talking about trading 1 of the core players(Johnny) , i'm talking about multiple players.

I also know there is very little chance the flames will hire a coach mid season, so i don't even think about it.

They've had both types of coaches and did nothing with it. Get an established coach sure, but its the core of this team that needs fixing more.

So that's the line we're drawing then? Not who didn't want to play for Hartley, not who didn't want to play for gully, not who didn't want to play for peters and not who doesn't want to play for Ward... If you dont want to play for Gallant that's it your gone.

Good luck with that

I’m fine with them going after an established good coach, though I don’t think this game or any particular loss is on Ward. And the “three coaches in one year” thing doesn’t bug me - that’s how many coaches any team that fires a coach mid season has if they do the rehire within the season, unless they don't do a search at all like Vegas. Almost every other example was an interim coach, so that makes 3.

So the team is full of players that prefer to slack off if the coach doesn't constantly ride them? That's a pretty damning statement on the players and what coach would want a team like that?

I'm so frustrated. I almost feel abused as a fan. It's like yhwure saying:
Hey, fans, look how good we can be! We're all going to have a good time! You'll be proud of us!

Meh. Maybe later, we don't feel like it right now.
