Pumped that Flames hockey is back that was a long break.
I hope the team is not looking ahead to tomorrow because I sure as hell know I am.

If they go below .500 before trade deadline and are still hanging around a playoff spot, I hope Tre looks at the market and see if someone will overpay for one of Brodie or Hamonic.

First game back after the break, playing a good team that lost last night, players probably looking forward to tomorrow night's game.
Must say I'm expecting the worst, hoping for the best.
Need #23 and #13 to start playing like they can. Has to start soon.

Not feeling optimistic about this one. I’ll consider it a success for this team if they don’t get shut out.

Feels like there was no hockey for a month...

I'm concerned about this game for many of the same reasons I was concerned about the OTT game before this month long break. All the excuses in the world for this to be a let down game. This version of the Flames usually seems to embrace those excuses (on the ice anyway).
God I hope I'm wrong and Flames lay a beat down on the Blues.

It won't take many consecutive losses to fall out of this race quickly with all the upcoming 4 point games. If they are out of playoff spot at the deadline I would hope that at least would pull the plug on acquiring a rental player.

Here's glass half full: The past few years the Flames have been hot going into the break and it cooled them right off. This year they were very mediocre going in, maybe they can take the break and reset the season, considering they are still in a good spot.

It will be interesting as the Flames are usually pretty consistent annually as they always seem to start slow, get hot in the middle of the season and finish slow and missing the playoffs every 2nd season. The post-all star break slump will have to be broken or the 2nd season out of the playoffs streak will continue.

I'm curious - do people post these depressing, dire predictions so the can point them later and feel justified or so they can be all happy when it doesn't come true? Except the latter doesn't happen.

I think people are just posting their actual thoughts. No other motive needed.

Not me. I legit do not like this edition of the Flames. Easily the least likeable bunch assembled in some time. They can either pull their heads out of their asses and start playing like they care on a nightly basis to which they will win me back or they can lose 10 in a row and the GM can focus on selling at the deadline, breaking up the core, and moving on from a bad mix. As long as it's one or the other because just hanging around and missing the playoffs in the last week will be a total disaster.

I don't believe that of everyone. The same people did it last year during the good times. Also this year during the streaks. I think some people just want to be miserable.

That's the best way to watch an inconsistent team like the Flames. If they're playing well, you can pay attention. If they're not, you can drink like a fish and socialize for a few hours. Much better than being stuck in the bleeders with $10 beers watching a snoozer
