I remember in May of 2018 I was at his 3000th hit game, in Seattle when the Angels were visiting. I recall how bad he was that season and that it was so great he made it to 3000 as he probably will retire like very soon.
The fact he did this, today in Sept 2022 is actually mind blowing.

Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels are in agreement on a one-year, $30 million contract to avoid arbitration. It’s the largest salary ever for an arbitration-eligible player and will be his final number before he hits the free agent jackpot following the 2023 season.
Am I crazy for thinking that the Braves might actually be the WS favorites? The run they've been on to overtake the division lead has been impressive to say the least.

Glad that dog and pony show is finally over. I was really hoping he would choke down the stretch and not get #62. But alas he did. This has to be the most celebrated record that isn't really a record of all time. I really hope the fan that caught it gets a nice pay day. Cash in on all this Yankee driven hype.
