I’ve started following the games closely this past week, and its been a curse.

I’ll step away again and check in mid June.

My apologies!

The Jays had 9 AB's to win the game and they swung for the fences. That's 2 in a row on Montoyo. Worst manager in baseball.

I get the intentional walks, but I’m sure it is hugely motivating to guys like Mejia.

Seems like the Jays really shot themselves in the foot tonight.

What made Montoyo think Espinal would have been successful with a bunt with two strikes? His previous attempts were pathetic and he’s generally a pretty good contact hitter so it just baffles my mind that they just donated an out.

And atleast another year of him. What a dumb decision exercising his option.

The defensive indifference is annoying too when there’s a guy on first and third with one out. I get that you don’t want the guy at third to come home but you can’t just give up a double play option and letting the guy go to second means a base hit will score two instead of one.

My thinking is, if you are at home, you should be ultimately expecting that you are probably going to be down one because of the guy starting at second. As such, your goal should be to keep them from scoring that second run at any cost.

Montoyo made the Jays walk every batter with a free base. It turned into a grand slam. Why didnt he ask any of his hitters to play small ball? That was a garbage loss by a manager who's a nice guy.

I hate losing, and this division sucks ass.

Well above .500 and in 4th place, and have to battle all these great teams over and over and over. It'd be nice to have an easy out once in a while.

He did, Espinal couldn't bunt when he had to.

I don't think he asked his players not to play small ball. I think they just failed to get a hit. Montoyo does deserve criticism for bunting because bunting is stupid and giving away precious outs like that has been proven to be a losing strategy.

Montoyo sucks donkey ****

He should have been fire immediately after the first time he got a guy to bunt with 2 strikes on principle. But he's done it about 30 times since.

He shouldn't be bunting at all. Relievers in this era throw 96-100 high in the zone, or they throw wicked breaking pitches away.

Positives: Vlad Jr is a Blue Jay. Nate Pearson pitched well in Buffalo today. Austin Martin is starting to really put the bat to the ball in AA.

Negatives: None! The Jays are a very competitive ball club.

We've got a ton of injuries and s manager who thinks it's the 1970s

Yes, the injuries are no secret. Pretty amazing they have been able to be this successful with the alarming amount of injuries. Too much is being made about Montoyo. 52-45 over his last 97 games managed (that's all of this season and last "season"). Pretty good turn around after almost losing 100 games in his first season.

The bunts are annoying but he has managed to keep the team above water considering the injuries.

More wins right now than Joe Maddon's team, as well as Mike Matheny's or Dave Martinez's. Same win % as Joe Girardis team at the moment.

They took the Rays to 12 innings with Tellez, Espinal, McGuire and Davis as 44% of our lineup.

Guess who is first in the MLB in fWAR: Vlad Jr, that's with him playing DH and being below average at first. Marcus and Bo are both top 25 too.

There is a lot to be excited about. I wouldn't let a couple tough losses in a row dampen your spirits. This is a good team.

Good teams lose baseball games. Treating every baseball game like it is a hockey game is just a good way to get yourself stressed out. There was nothing wrong with the pitching usage tonight or last night (Chatwood got the 2-3-4 in the 7th, Romano the 5-6-7 in the 8th and Dolis their next best guy couldn’t get the 8-9 guys out), it’s just that we had a blown save last night and too many batters couldn’t get a hit when one hit would win the game tonight.

It's so nice having a Vladdy that can score from first instead of being thrown out at third on a double.
