I hope Smith doesn't go to the Oilers. Would love to see him go east, Hurricanes ideally.

How much can they allocate to a G though?

They have about 9.3 million in space, they need to sign at least 3 F's, and a G,

Smith is a great goalie, perhaps the best in the market currently. Oilers would definitely look scary with him in net. I bet they make the Western finals atleast, definite shot at the cup too.

But only if their 8 Giordanos finally become Giordanos.

But they let Rieder go and they needed him to score 15 goals to make the playoffs...

If you would have told me a year ago that one season later, we could have Talbot and the Oilers Smith, I would have laughed.

  • Talbot to Calgary
  • Smith to Carolina
  • Mrazek to Edmonton

...would be interesting.

I sense a CP jihad. Keeps your eyes out for the inevitable Terry Jones or David Staples internet poll.

The real crime here is them not retaining Ty Rattie.

He was really the straw that stirred their drink...

But I thought Koskinen was their guy? They sure paid him like he is.

Maybe they'll buy him out to go after Mrazek.

I’d be happy with that, except I don’t like Talbot on your team. I’m still a fan.

Shouldn’t at least one of the Oilers goaltenders have a half decent glove hand?

Do you think he's capable of a bounce back to his 2015-2017 performance?

I know Oilers fans soured on his inability to make a save early in a game, which scream confidence to me.

Heres the best part, and I dont mean to belittle Smith, but he was a notoriously mentally fragile goalie.

How well do you think that'll play out in Edmonton? They're not exactly the most patient group.

Maybe they plan on having Smith play the glove side and Kostinem play the blocker side?

I look forward to seeing him openly blast the teams lazy play. He’s definitely outspoken and this team will give him plently of opportunity to show that.
