The league will give him a slap on the wrist but it is almost the same hit as Hunter.

He should get 21, and the rest of the league should riot if it’s not at least 10.
It’s a crosscheck to the head, in retaliation, and after the play. It has all the markers of a play that should never happen, and is done with intent.

Should send a message that this crap isn't acceptable, 5+ games. I don't really hate the Leafs as much as most here but if they miss the playoffs I'll laugh my ass off.

Was it as bad as the infamous Wideman hit though, that is the question.

Hot dogs get punched in the head. Thems the rules.
Nothing like the Hunter hit. Greig saw him coming and should have expected it. The Hunter hit was a blind side sucker punch during a normal goal celebration after a normal goal.
I remember this happening during the San Jose series in 2004. I think it was Simon who tuned the guy up after he hot dogged on an empty netter. Simon didn't miss a game.

They went on and on about Rasmus and his play being latein the game. This wasn't even during the play...Panel other than Kelly was out to lunch. Is his defence honestly going to be "he shot it in the net too hard". Like really?

He should have expected a cross check in the head because he shot it too hard?

I don't disagree but I don't see the league punishing the Leafs much here unless the Sens player has a serious injury.

Hot dog deserved something… but maybe not a cross check to the head.

5 games is my guess. Should be more but the hot-dogging and "Toronto's best dman" will be factored in.
It was a pretty good got-dog though. Breakaway empty net slapper. Haha

The "Michigan" and the between -the-legs shots also used to be considered hot dogging and would have been worthy of retribution in the old days. This kind of thinking belongs in the past.

plenty of times the empty net goal ends up being the game winner. Player has to make sure he gets it. Perhaps Grieg is most confident in his accuracy with a clapper?

Now do a Michigan on an empty net. That would be hilarious and likely spark a riot on the ice as well.
