I agree with this the more I hear about the remake the less I want it
It's interesting because before E3, I was pretty uninterested in the remake. Since the videos and news have been coming out though, I'm actually really excited for it. It truly is a remake, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they've done with it. This is coming from someone who was hyped for Kingdom Hearts 3 and ended up slightly disappointed by it, so maybe I should temper my expectations, but...
As far as I've seen, Tifa looks awesome from trailers (actually all of them do, except maybe Barrett, who is still a little ridiculously proportioned). Frankly, it just makes sense that a martial artist would be extremely fit and therefore not have huge breasts (although she still seems to, which makes me wonder what the hell the original design looked like). It's just funny that they think that's somehow a matter of "ethics" and that SE have a department with that name empowered to tell them how to design their characters.

In the world of buster swords and guys leaping two or 3 stories high, the laws of breast physics probably doesn't need to apply. . Not like it ever did in anime and JRPGS in general lol.

Yeah, but as technology gets better and video game characters look more and more like real people, some of those, er, "traditional" design choices just hit the eye worse and worse. The art style dictates how close to realism a character design needs to be - you could get away with a lot more ridiculousness in that realm 20+ years ago.
The whole MK11 controversy (if it can be called that) over the female characters not looking like scantily clad barbie dolls with enormous breasts is a good example - look at the character designs for Mortal Kombat 2011 compared to the new game. The current designs look like semi-believable human beings. The 2011 designs just look... stupid.

Confirms the cross dressing scene is still there, albeit modernized. Also noted that the "ethics department" at SE suggested re-proportioning Tifa's chest so she wouldn't look ridiculous during action scenes.
If there is any serious backlash about this I swear to god...

I have no idea what you're talking about.
Spoiler!

And what's with all the gasps and "ohhh"s from the female characters?
I was pretty glad I wore a headset to watch the video, that sounded like 2 seconds of random Japanese porn and my wife was on a work call in our office.
Pretty pumped for the game though, goddamn does it look good.
