Probably a good idea. Preemptive tax discussion ahead of each press release, then just discuss the actual update when it comes out? Win win?

Wasn't there suppose to me a Government of Alberta finance committee meeting that was giving approval for this project? I remember Smith said that at the press conference when the project was announced

Yeah but we’re actually going to get an arena and won’t be an embarrassment to the league by playing in a practice rink.

If we want to talk about embarrassments to the league there is a long list of items that are head and shoulders beyond the minor inconvenience of playing in an old, but still adequately functional Saddledome.
To name a few - there have been: sexual and racial abuse scandals, poor and inconsistent discipline policies, banning special interest warm-up jersey's, and obviously, the Coyotes franchise in general and the fact that they play in the near equivalent of an upscale community rink to name just a few.
Let's not get crazy with the reality of the Flames playing in the building they currently reside in. Things can, have been and sadly will be markedly worse than the mild inconvenience of not having a new billion dollar facility rolled out in our city every 35 years.

After the announcement occurred, next announcement if I recall correctly was never to occur until the fall.

… I was referring to the coyotes arena. Also, this was just a fun jab at our resident Coyotes fan, no need to make it so heavy.

To be fair, he was kind of guessing that there would be news soon based on his outside observation, and defined soon as in a few weeks around the time camps open.

You're that confident in the current plans? A lot needs to line up for that project.
I still believe that the Coyotes will be in a new arena IN ARIZONA before the Flames in Calgary

In theory if something comes together in the next several months this is a possibility because of your 12 month construction season. But I'm still not so sure.
