Had no idea he was still kicking around the AHL...good for him.

Lots of nice young pieces to work with on that club.

Not according to EliteProspects, but it could be a missed relation. They're definitely not brothers as both were born within a couple months of each other in '63 in areas far apart from each other.

His resume reminds me of Geoff Ward's. Many years as an NHL assistant and no real success as a head coach in lower levels.

I guess he's paid his dues and you never know if he's cut out for the job until he gets an opportunity. Also it's not like he's replacing a great coach in Eakins. If he doesn't work out it's probably not the worst thing for them as they will continue to draft high and accumulate prospects.

That photo of him on the tweet gives off the vibe of a hard coach, so wouldn't have been a fit here.

I thought if the Flames didn't sign Love immediately that one of these others teams was going to scoop him up.

Hired to be fired. By the time the Ducks and their development system are back to respectability, Cronin will be gone. Still, it's a first time opportunity.

Is there another generation talent coming up in 3 years? And the Ducks are tanking for that since Dallas Eakins lost enough games but they didn't have the luck to win the lottery?
