Slegooning is a new winter sport in which participants travel down a
snow-covered slope in single person sledge-type crafts, called Slegoons,
in full-contact races. They can continue even when overturned.
The Slegoon won first prize in the UK IOM3 Design Innovation in Plastics
competition 2003, sponsored by Bayer AG, and has received international
press, from magazines like Blueprint, UK to the SinChew Daily, Malaysia.
There's no word as to how much one of these Slegoon extreme sports sleds
will set you back or even if they're in production (we assume that they
are) but interested parties can contact Spike Reid directly via the
credited source and we don't doubt he'd more than welcome your interest.
For a second, I was excited someone had designed a safer version of the GT cruiser.... and then I wondered if this bullet shaped thing was supposed to be launched through a bobsled run at high speeds...
I remember my first time using one of those GT sleds when I was a kid. I didn't have one, but I begged another kid to let me give it a shot. I ended up crashing and bashing my face. There was so much blood coming out of my nose. I think I ruined sliding for a lot of kids that day.

It's funny, I googled after reading your post to see old pictures of them. What I got was the new versions at Walmart and Sportcheck $110 - $150. Wow.
I got a purple and green GT racer when I was a kid. It seemed super popular at the time, but I literally can't find any trace of it on google, lol.
