Apologies for any omissions... I guess Rendevous '87 and other International matches in lieu of All Star Games could be included.

Johnny is 2022 also, no?
of course Tkachuk and Markstrom both actual NHL season end allstars did not make mighty Team Pacific last year
that does happen from time to time, Hakan Loob was the NHL first team allstar RW in 88 but didn't make the allstar team- mind you 5 Flames were already on that team (and I think Rob Ramage may have been on it too and traded to the Flames shortly thereafter)

Yeah, because all he did was get us over the hump against the Oilers and win us a Stanley Cup!! For lack of better options? Really???

For a 3-on-3 all star game:
1st line: Iginla, Niewendyk, MacInnis
2nd line: Gaudreau, Fleury, Giordano
Goalies: Kipper and Vernon.

He lost my respect. I no longer want to give him any recognition no matter how good he was as a player 30 years ago.

Very good debate.
However I chose Nilson over Gilmour because Gilmour wasn't an all-star during his time in Calgary.

Gilmour was a far more complete player. He was outstanding defensively and still put up more points. Gilmour's line often went head to head with the opposition's best. Otto's line did too. Gilmour was a +45.
Nieuwendyk scored a lot of goals, but was a young player who hadn't mastered the defensive side of the game yet. He was a +26 on the year.
In the playoffs, Gilmour had 22 points and led the team with a +12.
Nieuwendyk had 14 points and was a +/- of zero.
Gilmour was the better player. Nieuwendyk improved as the years went on, but you could argue that Gilmour took his game to another level in Toronto as well.

Is that a hot take? At that point Gilmour was a far more complete player and definitely a much bigger part of the playoff run.
I recall a story that there was a conversation before game 6 with a few Flames about the "I'm going to Disneyland" promo they needed to do should they win the game and be awarded the Conn Smythe. I believe it was Macinnis, Vernon, Gilmour, Mullen and Otto they spoke with.

Some random Flames all-star memories:
- Kipper unveiling his new Vaughn pads with the V3 graphic at the 2007 ASG.
- Johnny getting added as an injury replacement during his rookie year, and then "scoring" on a breakaway in the Skills Challenge thanks to Jakub Voracek.
I was too young for the All-star Game that was held at the Saddledome in 1985; if we do end up getting a new arena in 2031 I'll be looking forward to having it return to Calgary.

Wait...you forgot Bennet! Takes 3 to make a line or is it 3's a crowd?
