Head out west to play 2 teams that were below us in the standings and so far 2-4 with a 3 game losing streak and might have lost Springer again.

Young team, with young stars that drive the engine, are learning how to play the different segments of the schedule.
As with hockey there are jumps in pace:
training camp to regular season, us thanksgiving, stretch drive etc.
Jays in a full season together are going through it. There is also a lot of hype around them perhaps they think it's going to be easy.
However now TDL over and teams are realizing their playoff pictures (or not) the level of the games start to pick up.
That's how I choose to see it anyway. They need to realize they can't just show up and talent will take them where they want to go - they need to earn it.
