I think Marvel should put a simple rule in place, the Character must have a first name, last name, and 3 lines of dialogue in the movie before they can participate in a fight. These aren't movies about armies, these are fantasy movies about a few fantastic individuals.
Saw Shang Chi this past weekend and really enjoyed it. Simu did a great job but I think Tony Leung, who I've watched in HK films throughout my childhood was the star. Fun movie and appreciated the Chinese culture in the film. Being Chinese, very nice to see a movie like that be so successful in the west.

Did a re-watch of Batman and Robin and I have to say it's great. I can see why people hated it upon release, but now 20 years later when you watch it you can't tell me you don't have fun with it. It's so over the top and out there, it's like no other movie ever made. Plus Arnold's Freeze is hilarious and just so ridiculous.

Yeah....no.

What was great about Batman and Robin is that it didn't have a single redeeming quality. Don't try to overthink it.

B&R is a $100 million episode of Batman 66 show. It's so campy it's wonderful. I'm glad the movie exists and I doubt we will get another movie like it ever again.
If I had to rank the first 5 Batman films I'd go:
1) Batman Returns
2) Batman and Robin
3) Batman 89
4) Batman Forever
5) Catwoman

Batman and Batman returns are good.... The rest are garbage. They gave Tim Burton a lot of rope with the first two films, and he created pieces of art.
The other films were all created via corporate focus groups to sell McDonald's products and toys. They have almost no redeeming qualities and set back mainstream superhero movies for many years. Not only are they bad movies, but they had a negative effect on the whole genre. They became the template a bunch of other awful superhero movies.

If B&R doesn't bomb as hard as it does, Nolan never touched Batman. There were already plans for a third Schumacher Batman film which would have seen Batman take on Harley Quinn, Scarecrow and the return of Joker through nightmares induced by Scarecrows fear toxin.

Are you just trolling us now? Batman 89 is one of the best Batman movies ever made, and you put it below B&R? That's not just poor taste and bad judgment, that's insane.

Yeah, those 5 should be ranked in order of release. They get worse as they were released. The first two are still enjoyable. The rest are hot garbage whether they were meant to be campy or not.

Lol I recognize it's not logical and Batman 89 is a far superior movie to most, and normally I prefer dark and serious to funny and light superhero films. But for whatever reason I find myself drawn to B&R and it's decadence. I recognize it's sole existence was to sell toys but I still have a hell of a time when I watch it. I love the film but I don't want anything else like it, this one version is all I need in terms of campy Batman.
There is a rumour that in the sequel to Pattinson Batman film the villain will be Mr.Freeze (don't know how credible that rumor is) but if it's true I want that version to be nothing like what we got from Arnold in B&R.

we got some kick ass songs out of those soundtracks though. I would also count Arnold's endless string of puns as redeeming. once in a while I still say "Ice to meet you!!" or "Stay cool...bird...boy"

My favorite rumor was Philip Seymour Hoffman as the penguin for the third Nolan movie. That would have been brilliant
I just can't see Freeze having worked in the Nolan universe, but I guess depending on the tone and style of the Patterson movie...maybe?

You’re selling Adam West Batman way short. Those shows had originality and genuine humor going for them.
Crimson Bolt, Defendor, Meteor Man, Blankman (call me Susan), Darkman... I'd put them all ahead of the Poison Ivy introduction. Batman and Robin just felt like someone attempting camp, but missing. Schumacher saw Army of Darkness, and lost his mind.

This doesn’t even include the best part when he pulls out the Bat Visa, complete with CHA-CHING sound effect. It’s one thing to cast a bunch of b-listers in Sharknado, but another achievement entirely when you can get Hollywood royalty in their primes to willingly participate in high budget schlock.
